NMR: Kids' Bedtime

What time do your children go to bed and how old are they?

Re: NMR: Kids' Bedtime

  • 4 year old is in bed by 8/830pm and sleeps until about 630am. Rarely naps during the day. 2 year old is in bed by 8pm and sleeps until about 630am. Naps daily, 1-2 hrs.

We don't wake our children in the morning. They wake on their own.

Lights out for both kids at 7:30. Oldest wakes up sometime between 5-6. Youngest wakes up 6-7. Oldest wakes up at 5:30ish regardless of when she goes to bed, which is why we have the early bed time.
  • DD#1 will be 5 soon and DD#2 just turned 3- they share a room and are usually in bed/reading books by 8:30, actually sleeping by 9. They wake up around 7 every morning (sometimes almost 8 on the weekends) and both take naps at day care and on the weekends (usually 2 hours).

  • Ds is almost 2. His bedtime is 8-9, mainly there is such a range because he has a hard time falling asleep in his new big boy bed. He gets a nap everyday. Usually between 1-2 hours. He wakes up by 7 every morning.

  • Most of my friends have their kids (ages 3-6) in bed by 7:30. They get up I think 6:00 AM. The older kids don't get naps as they are in elementary school but the youngers I believe do. They put them to bed that early so the kids are well rested & so that mom & dad have some time for themselves (even if it's just to do paperwork or cleaning up in peace and quiet).
  • our DD is 4 years old and she goes to bed between 9-9:30pm every night.  She wakes up around 8am I think.  We are night people.
