Re: Happy early Friday

  • This week I finished The Iron King and began Iron Daughter. The first novel was entertaining, but I'm not sure how I feel about all these fae. I find myself rolling my eyes alot, but I'm interested in the storyline so I'll stick with the series.

  • I'm almost halfway through Gone Girl.  I have already seen the movie which I loved but the book is definitely better.
    Siggy coming soon....

Reading The Art Forger By Shapiro. It's okay. I like art enough to keep me interested.
Listening to 14 by Peter Clines and I'm addicted. I need to know what happens next!

I work for a city and will be spending some time working at the festival we run but on Saturday I'll mostly be hanging out with family at an annual neighborhood party.
  • I just started Storm Front (Dresden Files #1) by Jim Butcher. The jury is still out on it.

We're getting our house ready for a house guest and getting things taken care of before vacation and then going to friends' house for a bbq and some pyrotechnics.

I'm a little over halfway through a Court of Thorns and Roses. I wasn't a fan in the beginning. It was so bleak and I really couldn't buy Feyre's motivations, but it's really growing on me.

I also just started listening to Lock In by John Scalzi. The premise is really cool, and I love the world building, but I could do with a little more emotional appeal.

No big 4th of July plans, just hanging out doing sparklers and small firework fountains on the street probably.

Ooh, good to hear. I just bought this in the Audible sale and wanted to hear how you were liking it after you mentioned it last week.

  • I am still reading Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews. It's a re-read for me. The 4th was pretty relaxing, with no big plans.

It was fun and I got invested in the characters. I definitely wanted to know what would happen next. Especially on sale, worth it.
