Finally finished Heir of Fire. It was okay. I loved book one and two but this one didn't get interesting for me until the very end. Now I'm reading The Royal We and I love it. Good writing and fast paced.

  • I'm reading Ignite (Defy #2) by Sara Larson.  It's just what I need right now after trudging through the last Anita Blake.  I read half of it yesterday.  #48

I'm also just about to start Susanna Kearsley's new book A Desparate Fortune.  I'm really excited to read it.  #49

  • I'm reading "The Distant Hours" by Kate Morton.  It was slow to start but now I'm hooked.  It's #50 for the year.

@SnShne322 I can't wait to hear what you think of the new Susanna Kearsley book!

  • I'm reading Stirred by J.A. Konrath and listening to The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion.

I'm generally underwhelmed with The Rosie Effect. I guess I was hoping for the magic of The Rosie Project.

Finished The Heir this weekend, loved it.  I didn't realize there was going to be another one coming out, I hate waiting!!   It was number 43 for the year, I'm way behind schedule.   Just started The Summer of Chasing Mermaids, so we'll see.
Jessica, Married to Brian 12/27/03, Mom to Alex 6/27/94, Devin 10/29/04, and Emily 1/15/07
  • I finished St. Anything by Sarah Dessen over the weekend.

Started The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty but didn't get very far.

  • I started and finished Lies We Tell Ourselves this weekend, and I really liked it.  I'm sort of a sucker for civil rights era fiction or non-fiction right now.  It was such a good, quick read.

Now I'm reading Okay for Now by Gary Schmidt, just because it was available and had a good rating on my library's ebook system.  So far it's not bad, but I didn't read any summaries or anything, so I have no clue where the story is going.
  • I am still reading Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews. I think it's around 115 for the year. Hoping to finish it soon!

I just started Fire in the Hole, a short story collection by Elmore Leonard. I picked it up because I love the TV show Justified and wanted to check out the story the series was based on. Both of the stories I've read so far have been really cool, despite being not my usual fare. I really enjoy the author's writing style.

I also started listening to 14 by Peter Clines while I was doing laundry today. I like it so far, lots of little mysteries to keep me guessing.

  • I am reading:

The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival by John Vaillant.

    and

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
    90 books in 2015?

  • I started The Sisterhood of the Traveling pants last Thursday night because I'm waiting for my holds to come up (only 1 person ahead of me)...it's not bad so far, but it's not great. I should be much further ahead since it's such a quick read, just not that interested.

Could someone please post how you know if a book is on the challenge?

This will be book 12 for the year, I've had some luck lately reading books in 2 weeks or less which for me is huge. With that being said I've upped my goal to 18 if I can keep this pace up.
  • I'm reading Daughter of Deep Silence by Carrie Ryan (wildly disappointing) and The Official Record of the Oklahoma City Bombing.

  • @dutchgirl76 There are a few different challenges. I think @julie37619 has them listed in the book bio. Off the top of my head, in addition to the certain number of books to read in a year, there are four seasonal challenges and I think a few ladies have been working through presidential bios.
