Intro

Hi,

Just thought I would introduce myself and say hi.  DH and I have been married 7 years, and are planning to TTC in September.  I am newly lurking and have been posting more on the bump.  I stopped BCP in December and will see my obgyn in August for my annual.  Are there any question you ladies have asked your obgyn prior to TTC.  I have already spoken to her let year about my prescription medications and got the clear that those are safe in the doses I am prescribed.

Re: Intro

  • Welcome!

I didn't see anyone prior to TTC. At my  last annual I told her I was hoping to be TTC before I saw her next. She asked if I had any questions, recommended a few doctors located closer to home for when I do get pregnant, wished me luck, and sent me on my way.

    Welcome!  Glad you're here!!

I also didn't see a healthcare provider prior to TTC.  H and I both started taking vitamins about six months in advance, and I've been trying to eat better and get more exercise.  H is on board with the exercise, but not so much the healthy eating!.  That man loves fast food!  :(

I also stopped the BCP about six months before actively trying too, and started using OPKs a month or two before as well as tracking that, cervical mucus and other symptoms on the Fertility Friend app.

Coming from a MM regular, you can save $ on most family planning purchases by paying for them to from you tax-free health care flex spending "cafeteria" account if you have one and you've funded it.  That's the only way I've been able to justify more than six months of pricey First Response OPKs, as well as expensive prenatal vitamins and lots of PG tests.  :)

I just got TCYOF in the mail today.  I didn't temp saturday morning so FF changed my o date to the 8th, but if I punch in a temp for saturday it says the 10th.  Still pretty close for an o date.  It feels good to be learning about it and reading TCYOF.  When I got married the priest encouraged FAM for BC, and it was spoken about it at a retreat that was required to get married in the church. But the FAM sounded much more like the rhythm method and the person talking about her experience with it had many unplanned pregnancies. So I decided to use other methods.  I wish this was taught more about monitoring natural signs of fertility.  It's so interesting!
