My husband and I are interested in putting on a Trex composite deck on our home.  We received a quote yesterday from lowe's wanting $16,000 for only a 260 square foot deck!  this seem outrageous to me and I want to see what other's have in terms of compostie decking prices.

That seems a tad excessive. Trey varies depending on your location, but that seems around 10K too much

I have no idea about deck prices, but we better take care of ours because that is crazy pants!!!  We have just about the same size deck currently.

That does seem high. I would look for a local contractor to give you a quote. Unfortunately price really does depend on where you are and who you deal with so I can't give you an "average" price, but this is definitely high.
