Book related? Oh yes!

DH and I just got back from our Boston vacation which included a day in Lexington and Concord. Naturally, we went here

And we also went to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery (no, not that one) to visit the graves of four literary giants:

  • Growing up here, I always forget the amount of amazing places to visit.  I mean, I've done pretty much all of them, but mostly with school or with my parents when I was young.  Me thinks it's time to do it as an adult and "force" Wes to enjoy all the amazing history of living in Massachusetts.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!

I've never really been a tourist in Boston, and I would really love to.  The Freedom Trail is pretty rad.  Once I started reading all the presidential biographies, I'm now wanting to do a whole revolution tour in Massachusetts.

I did get sworn into the Massachusetts Bar upstairs in the old meeting hall of Fanuiel Hall, and that was really, really cool.
  • The only places that ever really made a big impression on me as a kid were the sites of the battle of Lexington and Concord and the USS Constitution.  I remembered being wowed by those.  I'm not sure why I was wowed by L&C.  It's just a field with some plaques IIRC.  Though I remember there's a old house there that had some cool info.  Oh and a walking bridge! Right?  Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

  • I went to the Alcott house when I was a kid, but I want to go back I live close enough I could do a day trip. I was a bit obsessed with Little Women in middle school when the newer version came out. I still haven't read the whole version, just abridged but that's on my to read list.

If you're ever back in the area the Robert Frost Farm is only about 1 hour away, unfortunately the town doesn't offer much else but if you're a fan it's pretty cool.

My bucket list includes a trip to PEI, however I've heard there is no real Anne of Green Gables house...is that true?
  • @dutchgirl76 You're in NE?  We do GTGs every now and then.

  • Duh, of course it's the Old North Bridge!  I think maybe I liked it so much because it was so peaceful there.
