A Discovery of Witches (NS)
I know these threads can be annoying, and I apologize for that, but am I going to like this book?
It's a pretty hefty audiobook (like, 20 CDs or so), and I'm hesitant to commit. I'm maybe 1/2 an hour into it right now and I'm not so sure.
I sometimes enjoy PNF (that's what you'd call this, right?), when it's really good. I LOVED the Seven Realms series and I'm into the Raven Boys, but I didn't care for the Grisha. Incidentally, I listened to all three of those series (well, only the first Grisha, because I didn't love it).
Advice?
Re: A Discovery of Witches (NS)
Was it @dmlk413 that was really into them? Maybe @Fabk ? They might have some more insight. It felt a little like historical fiction with some fantasy thrown in. It wasn't like BOOM! Witches or anything.

I literally just LOLed at "BOOM! Witches"
I like historic fiction. What was that giant historic fiction book about Dracula's descendants or something? Maybe the author's name was Kostova or something like that?
ETA: The Historian. Thanks, Google. I liked that one okay.
Sugar & Spice
I love PNR and over the top vampire/witch/werewolfe fantasy; they have their place. But sometimes it's so in your face. This ones more subtle, less boom
