    1. how MM was your weekend?
    - Fair. We're still out of town from our house hunting trip, so we've eaten out every day since Friday. But, it's generally been two meals/day. We also met our friends at our favorite spot for a Bloody Mary bar yesterday. That was not planned. But H's company is covering our hotel and his meals since we're here to find a place to live.

    2. Any progress towards goals?
    - We placed an offer on a house! That counts, right? Now I have my fingers crossed hat they accept our lower-than-list price offer.

    3. What is your favorite day of the week?
    - Sunday. It's the only day that I don't work. It's the day that we get all of our life stuff done. Grocery shopping, cleaning, errand running, etc. but I do it on my own schedule. "Sleep in" until 7:30, have a few cups of coffee, read a little before I get on with my day.
  • 1. how MM was your weekend?
Good, all budgeted for. $38 at Target, $50 hunting accessories for H, $114 stock up at Sams, $65 regular groceries, $16 for a birthday gift (saved $30!).

    2. Any progress towards goals?
I made a SL payment and I noticed I'm now under $7000.00! I remember someone mentioning they get excited when balances drop another digit (each thousand, etc is a high five in my books). Ever since then, I get excited when it happens.

    3. What is your favorite day of the week?
Friday's since I work M-Th. My carefree day to spend with the kiddos. Sometimes we stay in jammies all day, sometimes go somewhere fun, etc.

Good luck on the offer! Most houses around my area are selling below asking by 4-7%.

    1. how MM was your weekend? Not too bad- groceries ($100), Target ($45), gas ($40)

    2. Any progress towards goals? In a holding pattern for the rest of July and August. We went to 4 more open houses this weekend- we really liked one. I think every wall was covered in wallpaper though, the closets were a little small, but it did have hardwood floors under the carpet. The kitchen and yard were amazing for the girls and it had a really nice covered patio. Price wasn't too bad, but the owners want to close in October and to put DD#1 in school for 1 month and move her to a brand new district isn't fair at all. It was good to see the area though and get a better idea of what we're looking for.

    3. What is your favorite day of the week? Probably Friday- in the summer, I take the day off to spend time with the girls and during the school year, I work from home that day and will be able to pick up DD#1 at the bus stop in the fall. Of course, Saturday/Sunday are good too- we usually do lots of family stuff/spend time together over the weekend.

  • 1 - Not the best.  Friday I was playing a wedding and grabbed dinner fast on the way home ($7) and not totally sure what all DH and DD spent on their night out without me.  Saturday I played another wedding and had a family date afterwards with dinner and movie ($75 total).  Sunday DH and DD went to NFT to get him 6 lights for his new studio.  That money came out of his business fund and was around $600 ish which was a great deal for the quality of lights.

    2 - $108 in savings and $108 in retirement

3 - My fav day is Friday night because we spend it together as a family.

  • 1. how MM was your weekend?

Not bad, not great. We spent $220 on groceries/necessities. I spent $70 on shoes and underwear, stuff I had to have, and they were on sale. And then we spent about $20 on eating out.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Yes! We found a used car to buy. Just waiting for checks to clear so we can get them a cashier's check. Then once we sell our truck, we'll have saved a lot. By the end of August, we'll have no car payments, will have paid off our last student loan, and still have a 6 month emergency fund. No debt beyond the mortgage. Woo!

    3. What is your favorite day of the week?

    Saturday, for sure.

  • 1. Not the best, but not terrible. Gas and meals during a weekend trip to see friends, probably totaling between $125-$150.

    2. Nope, this is the week we pay the mortgage.

    3. Either Saturday or Sunday. I love waking up and going on a walk with H to get coffee.

  • 1. how MM was your weekend?

Pretty good.  We went to the Mississippi Gulf overnight.  The hotel room was free and we spent a total of $45 on food and drinks.  Probably $15 on gas.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

    Nothing this week.

    3. What is your favorite day of the week?

My favorite day of the week is Sunday.  I work full time during the week and then have a part-time job for a couple hours on Sat. morning.  Sunday is the ONLY day I don't have to do anything.  It's my veg at home day.  I try not to schedule any errands and am usually, but not always, successful.

H is not a coffee drinker, but there is a local donut shop (amazing donuts) about 1.5 miles from our house we've been talking about making a donut walk part our our sunday morning routine with the dogs not super MM, but I could pack coffee from home. 3 mile walk for us and the dogs, plus an amazing donut bonus!

  • 1. how MM was your weekend? Not the best MM, but all planned expenses.  We bought a sleep number bed.  H has been going to the chiropractor for a month now, and we determined the culprit was our mattress. :-(  So $3,700 on a king size of that with all the bedding we needed since we currently have a queen.
Then $27 on eating out for lunch.

We also priced a bedroom set, but I couldn't pull the trigger.  So another $50 on a metal frame we will put the mattress on.  The money is there to buy a set, but my Dave Ramsey mind tells me "hell no."

    2. Any progress towards goals? We have our budget all set up to cash flow vacation next week, and cash flow all of our bills even without my pay for a week in August. Woot!
H has also been working 65-75 hours/week, and that's helping cushion things even more.

    3. What is your favorite day of the week? Saturday.  Getting up and making coffee and breakfast, spending a few hours together as a family, and getting a few things done.

Did you get your bedding from Sleep Number as well? We returned our mattress, but kept the bedding, and we've even bought additional sets since. Their sheets are the best, and we really like our comforter, too!

We got our sheets from there, but I ordered a quilt rather than a comforter from Kohls.  There are 5 sets of couples we know who have a sleep number, and they all ranted and raved about their Egyptian cotton sheets.  There was also an event in our area this weekend, and they were having a sale for it.  35% off all bedding.  So we got the sheets, mattress pad, and 2 pillows.  With the discount, it really made all of that the same price as what we would have spent for like quality at Kohls or JCPenney.

  • 1. Weekend was good. Saturday I helped my sister buy her new car, and the dealership had burgers there so we got a very expensive 'free burger'
Sunday we went out after church for burgers, so that was probably close to $40.
No progress towards the goals. Although after a month we finally had somebody show up to work on the patio. Now we are just waiting on the gutters and it will be finished!!
Favorite day of the week is probably Friday. Dh works half days Friday's so we generally do something fun with ds in the afternoon.

  • 1. Didn't spend much this weekend! $4 at the dollar tree for my newspapers, $9.12 at Target, and $45.92 at costco for some fruit and household items.

    2. I was able to move another $70 over into my starter e-fund. I've challenging myself to no spend weeks while at work. I think it is really starting to help with saving!

    3. The Saturdays that I don't have to work are my favorite! I can take a nap after LO goes back to sleep. Then we can spend all day together as a family! It is awesome and the recharge that I need for the next work week. During football season, Sunday becomes my favorite day of the week. We cook lots of food and hang out together all day long!

you'll buy the bedding set when you're ready. My parents have a sleep number, they bought it after years of one of them being unhappy with the firmness of their mattress. ironically they both ended up on the same number at the end. but they still love the mattress.

Oh..yeah!  There is a coffee shop about 1/3 of a mile away from us.  We used to live one block away from it.  But we take the occasional walk over there on a Sunday.  It has a really nice tree covered outdoor patio area.  We catch up with old neighbors and our dog catches up with her doggie coffee friends.
  • @Brij2006: Eek 3700 for a sleep number? I had no idea they were so expensive. We plan to get one when we're out of debt too but i may not at that price. eek I thought it would be like half that.

  • @katiecutie05 This was one of our biggest goals for when we got debt free.  I knew we would be spending about $3k, which is still a lot, but at least their life expectancy (and warranty) is 25 years. We were going to spend at least $1,500 on another pillow top, and those only last about 7-10 years.  Our is 8 years old now, and is done for.   So we figured that it will end up evening out anyways.

  • @Katiecutie05, if you do look at other options we ended up with a serta icomfort 3 years ago, It was about $2000 for the king-sized. it's a gel infused memory foam so it doesn't have the heat-trapping tendancies other memory foam mattresses have.  it did only come with a 10 year warranty. the biggest advantage to the sleep number (in addition to the longer warranty) would be if you and your H have completely different needs as far as mattress firmness goes.

  • I can't name names, but a few years ago I completed some mystery shops at dealers of one of the high end, luxury mattress brands.  I could barely contain my non-chalant composure when they whipped out that $8900 price tag (or something like that) for a king bed with an adjustable frame.  Whoa!!!  But it also had heat and massage.  It was really nice and comfy!  One of those "when I hit the lottery" planned purchases, lol.
  • 1. Weekend spend: all in cash and budgeted including the $105 for belt testing for my son and I.

    2. I don't think I did anything that wasn't automatic last week.

    3. Currently I am enjoying lazy Sundays.  This will be changing since we want to send our son to Catholic school and we will have to become regular church goers at that point or pay extra.
  • I had no l the sleep numbers lasted 25 years... i thought it was like 10-15. My H wants the one with dual temperature controls b/c although we like the same firmness.... he prefers to sleep in an ice cube.... and i like it nice and warm. for 8900 i'll use an extra blanket. lol. but 3500 for 25 years might make sense. oh well we got time
