  • I'm finishing up Bad Debt (Chicagoland #11) today.  #52

I'm also working on Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews.  I think I'd like it more if I actually gave it more than 20 minutes at a time.  #53

Finished Summer Secrets last night.  It picked up and I ended up enjoy it but the first 1/4 of the book was pretty painful.

Not sure what is next.  I have The Kind Worth Killing and Wayward Pines book 1 ready to go on my kindle though.

Ravensbruck will give it a run for its money.

  • I am starting Reluctantly Charmed today.  I am way behind schedule.
Jessica, Married to Brian 12/27/03, Mom to Alex 6/27/94, Devin 10/29/04, and Emily 1/15/07
  • Still reading Missoula. I am about 1/2 way through. It is very interesting, but the topic is so tough that I only read in small sections. Plus this is my hardcover so I usually read this one in bed.

I am also working on What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. It is ok, but it isn't catching me like her other books. I will keep with it because it has great reviews and I am only 35% done. This is my kindle book.

I just got 2 books on overdrive that of course came in at once: We are liars and Leaving Time. Both have holds so I need to get to them.

  • I just started Shadowscale, which is the sequel to Seraphina. I'm still waiting for it to grab me.

I finally finished Fire in the Hole so I've now got my full attention on A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab. I'm not too far in, but I like it so far.
I also started Armada on audiobook with my husband last weekend on the way to my parents', but haven't listened to more so we can listen again together on our next road trip. Honestly, it was a little eye rolly at first, but I think it will get better. The reason for the 80s pop-culture obsession of the main character feels a little more far fetched than in Ready Player One, but I felt myself getting sucked in as Zach started going through his dad's old stuff again.

I may pick up something else on audio that I can listen to before we leave, but for now I've been obsessively listening to Starlee Kine's Mystery Show podcast, which is basically my new favorite thing in life. I've got I am Malala and The Storied Life of AJ Firky loaded on Audible, but not sure I'm in the right mood for either.

  • Listening to Sinner (Shiver #4), just finished The Water Horse with my kids. Reading Howl's Moving Castle. I have The Nightingale on cue but after I finished The Lost Wife and a Dennis Lehane book I needed some things that weren't total downers!
  • I'm late to this game, but I want to play!

I'm still listening to A Discovery of Witches, and enjoying it a lot more than I expected to.  I'm about 75% through.  Thanks to everyone who suggested I stick with it.

I'm reading Wayward by Blake Crouch (book 2 of the Wayward Pines series).  So far, it's a lot like the first one, but the mystery and suspense is lacking.  I just started it over the weekend, so we'll see.
  • I just started the Wayward Pines book #1, so far it's ok. I haven't seen the show yet so I'm hoping the books are good.
