Re: Happy Friday!

  • I'm reading book one of the Wayward Pines series.  Not fantastic writing or anything earth shattering but I like it enough to keep going after book one.

Your post made me think of this...

I am reading A Hidden Witch by Debora Geary and loving it.  I also started Hex Hall last night since it finally came in from my library.

I'm reading Jen Lancaster's new book The Best of Enemies. I always read her fiction and never like it nearly as well as the memoirs, but still.

I'm on the phone with my local library right now. They upgrade their checkout system and when they did they changed our library cards out, so I have a new account number. Well, somebody didn't merge old account with new because my Overdrive holds have now disappeared. Sort of. I got an email saying a book I had been waiting on for months was finally available but I can't check it out because it won't recognize my old account number but the holds didn't transfer into the new account. FCPL, we in a fight.

UPDATE: The Overdrive goddesses fixed my holds and all is right with the world again. Fight over.

  • I just started Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. Sixty pages in and I really like it a lot so far! I think it's maybe 120 for the year. I need to update my goodreads.

  • I'm still reading "My Grandmother Told Me to Tell You She's Sorry", by the guy who wrote "A Man Called Ove". It's great, but I just have not had a chance to really pick up a book in the last few weeks.

I did manage to finish "What She Left Behind", which was decent. Not what I expected, though. It was way more "YA" than I anticipated. I love YA, but I was hoping this one had less teen angst, and more creepy.

  • We are liars on my kindle. About half done. So far it's good. I hope it picks up a little.
