Sunday Chat

I'm back!!!  :) I kept trying to login while at my parent's house but their internet sucks and for some reason my phone wasn't wanting to load the anniversary board pages.  I love all the good news - Congrats Jen on your little angel.  Congrats to Tara and her husband for the full time teaching jobs.

Not much is new here.  I'm happy to be home.  P has a meeting with a headhunter tomorrow.  She contacted him about a position in Aurora.  It's not too much further of a drive than what he has now.  The insurance is almost identical (ours is not great).  But he would have more of a set schedule and the starting pay they've offered is significantly higher than what he is making now.  He's meeting with her to discuss the details and get more information.  He would still be on call but it would only be to that one building/office not all over the state like now.  He's clearly nervous about it.  He's worried he would hate it and/or not be good at it.  I'm not sure how to help him feel better about it.  I just keep telling him to ask her all the questions he has and not to take it if he really doesn't want it.  While the increase to his pay would be amazing for us, I don't want him to take the job just for that.  He said it would look really good on his resume.  So FX that his meeting goes well.

In other news, I finally figured out why I was so miserable every morning and evening starting at about 12 weeks.  Milk and other dairy products apparently are not agreeing with me.  I'm quite sad I don't get to enjoy ice cream while it's still effing hot here.  And I really hope it's just a pregnancy thing and the baby doesn't end up with a milk intolerance.

So how is everyone?  Anyone else excited for fall?  I'm already planning Lily's Halloween costume.

Re: Sunday Chat

  • I am not excited for fall, because fall means a lot of work... but I'll get over that.

I've been way too busy. Just decided not to go to Hershey park today like we were supposed to, which is fine. I've got plenty of things I can do here.

  • I love fall! Can't wait for food and cooler weather. I'm heading to a wedding then off to Dallas for a meeting. Then home for a day and out to Portland Tuesday night.

I have more to vent and get opinions on, but no time to post about it now. Hope you guys have a good Sunday!
  • DH just finished his first week at his new school. He has one more week of training before his students start on the 17th. He gets his first paycheck the end of the week so we are both really happy about that  since the last time he got paid was in June. I'm looking forward to fall, but it will be awhile until it starts feeling like fall here in FL. Fall is the season I miss the most :(

  • Omg, Aleigha, you sound crazy busy. And I'm right there with you on being excited the food and cooler weather. Everything I've been craving lately is fall food. Chili, pumpkin bread, potato soup.

Megan, how is YH liking the new school? Too soon to tell? I hope it goes well.

Alyssa, I have a huge to do list. I did several things this morning but have spent nap time washing fabric and cutting out patterns to make Lily some fall clothes. Had to find a fix for my fall yearnings. :)

  • @shellyamf I think he like it a lot. Last week was just new teacher training and he didn't spend all the time at his school. He'll be at his school mostly this week. He is only teaching science and social studies and really likes that he doesn't have to teach all subjects. He is also really enjoy the drive through the country to get there vs the city drive he's had to get to his past schools. It is only 25 mins away from home so that is a big plus. Thanks for asking ;)
