I finished A Discovery of Witches (finally) (spoilers)

So, I liked it, I think.  I grew to like Diana, despite her whole Bella Swan attitude about "the vampire."  And I even liked Matthew in all his awkward vampireness.

But it all felt so anti-climactic.  Like it was just setting the stage for what is to come in the other books.  And FFS, are the two of them ever going to get it on?  What a tease.

I think I'll eventually get to the next book in the series (if only out of hope that Diana and Matthew will finally consummate their marriage), but I'm not in any rush.

  • That's pretty much how I felt too.  It was enjoyable, but I still haven't moved on.

And it's not even good sexual tension!  If it's going to take them that long, I don't know that I want to wait it out.

  • The second book was much better than the first.  I think the first was wholly dedicated to building the world.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I gave up on this book 150 pages in. It didn't hold my interest at all and I hated Diana.
