Friday Confessions

I know, I know, nobody seems to do these anymore but we missed the Thursday Randoms so I thought I'd give it a go.

Re: Friday Confessions

  • Mine is probably flameworthy, but while I am sorry for the family of the guy who was killed by the Raptor roller coaster at Cedar Point, the guy was clearly an idiot and deserves the Darwin award. Who hops a fence where a roller coaster is running to look for a cell phone? Did he think the fence was merely decorative? Ask the ride operator and they can have someone safely check the area.

PS he was 45 years old and a teacher! SMH.

  • This week we had school open house & first day of classes. My confession - I was very surprised how much ink other moms are sporting these days. Lots of full sleeves, shoulder ink, neck ink. I guess I'm just out of it. You always see some, obviously, and I won't say that it wasn't tasteful. It was just the amount that surprised me. Probably 80% of women with tattoos, and about 50% of those having extensive tattooing.

    Yes!  Thank you!!!

As soon as my husband told me what happened, I said, "he deserves a Darwin award!"  Idiot!

I used to be a ride operator at an amusement park & with the safety standards today, 99% of amusement park accidents are USER error.  People don't listen to directions or think they don't need the proper restraint. SMH

I feel sorry for him, his family and the kids that inevitably saw all of this happen.  When you ride the Raptor you wait in line and are face to face that whole time with the area below the coaster that's littered with people's hats, sunglasses, flip flops etc.  There's warning signs telling you to secure your loose items.  We used leave our loose stuff up on the main deck to pick up after.  After he lost his phone he had to scale a fence with warnings posted on it.  I don't understand what in the world he was thinking.
