Re: Best Fall Books for Women

  • I added a few. I didn't realize that Carry On was coming out.

I didn't either. I'm curious to read it, because it confuses me!

Fictional fan fiction based on actual fiction from another author.... I think this classifies as some form of meta-fan-fiction, and copyright lawyers are all

  • There's another shopaholic book coming out?  That series was so awful by the end, I can't imagine another one.  The first book was cute, maybe even the second, but it should've quit then.

I didn't realize Carry On was even happening.  I'm not into it, as those parts of Fangirl only detracted from the story for me, but it is an interesting premise - the whole fictional fan-fiction within fiction thing.

I added a couple of the others, though.
  • Surely I'm not the only one who chafes a little at PopSugar referring to these as "Books for Women," am I? That being said, I didn't know about the new Mindy Kaling.

Yes. I don't get the "for women" thing unless it's like, for medical reasons.

I'm incredibly disappointed that none of these books have anything to do with my vagina.

ETA: That Margaret Atwood book sounds really good!

  • Right?  Since when are Hillary Mantel, Margaret Atwood, and Joyce Carol Oates "women's fiction"?
