Font Dilemma

My boss sent me a sign that she needs me to edit to put up on all our computers.  The original is written in Comic Sans, but she didn't ask me to change the font.  I'm morally obligated to change it anyway, right?  I can't let myself put up signs in an academic library written in comic sans.

  • Go forth and amend!

  • "Oh sorry! My computer doesn't support that font, so it just defaulted back to Arial."

If I ever wrote a computer virus, it would be to uninstall Comic Sans from every infected machine.

  • You are indeed morally obligated to change the font. Think of the lives you are saving from having their eyes bleed out.

  • Add this to Thursday Randoms, I think Comic Sans is the most unprofessional font in email. Sad that you see people with Ph.D.'s using it in purple font.

I love the idea of a computer virus wiping out CS.
  • DOWN WITH COMIC SANS.

  • What is with all the comic sans hating?  It has a time and a place, and I agree that professional email and signs in the library are not it, but c'mon!
  • @SusieBW I can't take you seriously in comic sans. It's like I'm trying to have a conversation with you and you're wearing a rainbow wig and red nose.

  • My phone apparently doesn't support it.

And really, isn't that the whole point of the font?  It serves a purpose, dammit!
  • I see no dilemma. Change that font. Then burn the original signs. Burn them with the righteous rage of a thousand suns.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • Comic Sans is much like home decor in the 1970s. Where good taste went to die.

Side note: Once I was promoted, I discovered one of my support staff wrote ALL of his emails in Comic Sans and used it for his docs too. He was the first person I fired. There were other incredibly legitmate reasons...but I didn't forget about the Comic Sans.

  • @pinkybooklove09 You slay me. I am totally modeling the snarky BFF character in my WIP after you.

  • Changed to the traditional Times New Roman.  My boss is stridently opposed to normal person fonts, but I just can't get on board with the comic sans.
