Finding a reputable bankruptcy lawyer...
Any advice on where to look to make sure they are reputable? What questions to ask, etc?
Re: Finding a reputable bankruptcy lawyer...
Get the names of a few lawyers from your state or local (city) bar association, and then meet with a few of them (over the phone or in person) - most will likely have free intial consultations.
Note that the "price" of a bankrtupcy (if you ask them to quote their fee) is not always the way to go - in other words, the person who quotes you the cheapest flat fee won't necessarily be the best attorney. Some are better than others.
Do a google search for your state's bar association to find a reputable bankruptcy attorney. Also, for what questions to ask, well that depends what chapter of bankruptcy you want to file. I would suggest going to www.findlaw.com to give ideas of questions to ask. Hope this helps.
