Re: Happy Friday!

  • I'm reading Whiskey Beach. It was a kindle deal of the day a few months ago. It's just okay.

No plans this weekend. DD had strep throat and an allergic reaction to an antibiotic this week so she needs rest before school starts.

  • I just finished Tragic by J.A. Huss last night. It was okay. I got the kindle deal on the series, so I may start the next one. I was hoping my hold on I'll Give You the Sun would come in, but no luck so far.

We are going to eat crabs at my in-law's house tonight. We are going to look at some much-needed new couches on Saturday.

  • I'm reading Heir of Fire right now.  I'm having a terrible time getting through it.  It's a time issue, not the book.  By the time I finally finish everything for the day it's usually 10pm.  I can't seem to stay awake long enough to freaking read anything.  I have to go to a wedding reception tomorrow.  Other than that I'm on a mission to finish this book.

  • I'm reading 'The Christmas Bargain' by Shanna Hatfield and really enjoying it.

We don't have plans this weekend. I'm looking forward to relaxing!

  • I just finished Queen of Shadows. I loved it SO much even though it took all of my emotions into a blender, hit frappe, then poured me out into a puddle of tears. It was EVERYTHING. Definitely the best book I've read all year.

Now I'm starting Paper Hearts by my dear friend Claire Contreras. She sent me an early copy to read so I will be hunkering down with that tonight <3

  • Reading Schismatrix Plus by Bruce Sterling

Still listening to the biography of the Star Wars franchise. I'm just past the making of Revenge of the Sith.

Headed to Warsaw this weekend. It was a "mystery" city break I booked through Groupon a few months ago (You pay a fixed amount and provide a few options for dates, and the travel agency just books you a flight and hotel somewhere).

  • I'm reading (and loving!) You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), by Felicia Day. From the first pages I wanted to be her BFF. I loved her on Eureka and other internet things I've seen her in. Just fabulous.

Tomorrow is our yearly Grandparents Day event at the museum so I will be at work but I'm taking Monday off (no, we don't get national holidays off other than Christmas, Thanksgiving, NY, and Easter).

That trip sounds so cool Gilli!

I'm halfway through Armada. I was really nor into it when I first began but after 90 pages or so I'm now flying through.

Listening to The Hawley Book of the Dead. I somehow missed a chapter or two near the beginning so I feel like I'm missing something. I have to go back and fill in later this weekend!

Just a bunch of housework and playing with kids this weekend. It'll be great.
  • I'm about halfway through and loving Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray. I'm glad it's nice and long because I don't want it to end.  I also started Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to read along with Archer as his class reads it.

Last night I started listening to Felicia Day's book, You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost),and it's really funny and charming.

We're celebrating DH's birthday this weekend and my sister's coming to town for a day or two.

I am half way through Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand

I also started The Martian last night for a book club. Didn't get very far into it.

This weekend we are doing a BBQ Sunday and then relaxing Monday.

  • I'm 100 pages into Queen of Shadows.

We'll do a BBQ. My little bro came home for the weekend.

  • I had no idea Felicia Day had written a book! I've loved her since the beginning of The Guild! She's so adorable!

Warsaw was fun! We didn't have a lot of plans, so we just wandered around a bit. We ended up joining a free walking tour focused on traditional Polish food and drinks that was quite interesting!

I'm just learning about The Guild. I've watched the first two seasons and the rest of the seasons are a big part of my labor day plans for today.I knew her from Eureka! and loved her in that.

I love the Guild so much! So much awkward goodness. If you like the show, @GilliC, you would probably love her book. I tried to watch Eureka a while back and couldn't get into it, though that was probably before I truly ventured into the sci-fi/ fantasy realm and discovered I actually loved it, so maybe I should try again.
