Speaking of small purchases

The "motivation" thread had some great ideas and made me think about sharing my purchase from today.  I was at the USPS to mail a package and saw these adorable "from me to you" stamps.  I'm still using my current pack of stamps but had to buy these since they are about the cutest stamps I've ever seen...and the first stamps ever to come with stickers!

Anyone else make a fun small purchase lately?

  • We cloth diaper DD, and this diaper came out from the brand we use and love.
I couldn't help but buy it.  It's even more adorable in person.

  • Oh those are really cute.  My mom has collected stamps for years.  H and I ran into a book of antique French stamps while we were in France, and we bought it for her for her birthday.  Turns out it was worth way more than we paid for it in the US market!  That was a good find.

One fun "small" purchase we made recently was a $20 golf card at a Robert Trent Jones course near our house.  It was on a discount because it's only good for the rest of the year, but it gives Alabama residents a discount on the course.  We figured we would see whether we liked it or not before paying for the year-long card next year.  H and I have been going to the course on the weekends to hit buckets of balls to work on our swing.  The card gives us a pretty steep discount on buckets - I think we paid $3 for a bucket last weekend.

  • There's an odd local hot sauce company near us that is amazing, but dropped off the grid for a few years due to mismanagement. Well, they just reappeared so we spent $20 stocking up on our favorites. So good!
  • we're planning to CD our baby, but I want to have some disposables on hand for those times when cloth just might not be convenient.  I took advantage of the honest company's one free bundle-just pay shipping offer and spent $5.95 for 6 packs of diapers and 10 packs of wipes (and put a reminder to cancel my subscription in a few weeks in my calendar)

  • I had a fight with the husband this morning. Even though we've made up, I was still looking for a pick me up on my lunch break. I have been wanting to try out the Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion for ages. So I splurged on it today at Target. My skin gets so dry in the winter, I figured this was worth a shot.
  • DH has today off for Yom Kippur so he picked me up for lunch- we haven't gone out to eat in a long time (just the 2 of us) so that was our little splurge for the day... mmmm sushi!

  • For the last three weeks I've been going back and forth on a $30 trash can for our bathroom. Today I pulled the trigger. :)

  • My car starts with a weird, round fob thing instead of a key.  I recently purchased a bright teal ring to go around the fob.

I am always blown away by the cost of trashcans! As much as you don't want to spend money on something that just holds trash, they are constantly used and ever-present, so it's probably worth it to get one you want.

I have that.  It works OK... I personally don't see a huge difference but it smells so nice I still use it.

Love those stamps!  I'm going to go to the post office this weekend to see if they have them at mine.  :D

We ordered a bunch of spices from Penzey's - the package was waiting by the door today!  We got some old stand-bys, but I'm excited to try the new ones!
