Re: Thursday Randoms

  • I agreed to run a leg of the Akron marathon relay this weekend. I was really excited and now, for whatever reason, I'm dreading it. It's only a few miles, I'm used to running that far, I just don't want to do it. Bleh.

  • Spell check does not correct when you type comdom instead of condo.

Makes for some interesting closing docs.

  • @jackiback I'm volunteering at an art auction tonight.  I've been looking forward to it for ages and now that it's here I just want to stay home and snuggle Pompom.  My crazy cat lady transformation was pretty much instant.  Just add cat and I become that person.

    This is greatness.

I'm looking for a new job so that we can relocate to North Carolina and leave Miami behind. I've been with the same company for 10 years (different positions). It's totally overwhelming and I'm sort of scared out of my mind.

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

  • I wish stores sold preset mixed bags of trick-or-treat candies for adults. Like, don't get to trick-or-treat anymore? Here, have a prefilled bag with a variety of treats! I'm thinking like a variety of things/brands like reeses, snickers, twix, kit kats, smarties, twizzlers, sour gummies, m&ms, etc. And for the super grownups, little bottles of sample liquor to enjoy.

My friend suggested doing nips in a pinata for an adult halloween party. DH and I have to wait to buy Halloween candy until right before or else we attack it haha.

Almost everyone at work is sick, summer to fall weather transition cold. All week I've been pumping myself full of vitamins and cold eeze. I know it doesn't really help since I'm overdoing the limit but I want to stay healthy, we leave for vacation tomorrow and with my luck I'll get the cold then.

This is an amazing idea. Patent it and go for it! I would buy it

Yes! And for a premium, you can pick and choose which candies make it into your bag - so you only get the ones you like!

  • I bought a security camera for the museum's collection since most of it's in an not-as-secure area right now while we remodel. It has video and sound plus night vision, and the sound combined with the night vision is some seriously scary Paranormal Activity shit. Nothing's happening, it just sounds hella creepy and I'm afraid to watch it in case I have nightmares. Thankfully it sends emailed photos if the motion sensor is triggered.

It's more of the "get there early, take a shuttle, run, take another shuttle, find your team at the starting line, blah blah blah." All the logistics stuff seems really annoying. I don't mind running, but there's  huge part of me that wishes I had taken the first leg instead of the fourth, even though the first leg is two miles longer. Get there, do my thing, go home!
