Weekend Plans?

TGIF! What's up for the weekend?

Re: Weekend Plans?

  • Friday- Getting ready for our housewarming party tomorrow

    Saturday- Housewarming Party!

Sunday- Yardwork, homedepot. We are going to the Big E Tuesday, my favorite fair ever!

  • Friday-furiously finishing knitting a baby sweater for a shower tomorrow (which I can't attend but I'm leving my gift with a friend who can)

Saturday-Family wedding (including a full catholic mass...sitting through an hour+long service is not something my 3rd-tri bladder is ready for).

Sunday-traveling home and hopefully some grocery shopping.

  • Friday - Staying home and attempting to get my house cleaned up.  We're still in "wedding hangover" mode, and we had a busy week where we weren't home Tues, Wed, or Thurs nights, so it's a bit of a disaster.

Saturday - grocery shopping, more cleaning, laundry, and putting together the bar cabinet we bought with some of our wedding cash.  I also plan on making a nice dinner unless something comes up with friends for the evening.

Sunday - hopefully just relaxing and working on thank you notes.  Have a hockey game to attend in the evening and then H has a 6am flight on Monday morning.
  • Friday - work from home, get DD#1 off the bus, homemade pizza (dough is rising right now) and pudding for desert (found the easiest recipe on pinterest) night.

Saturday - my parents come out to visit the girls. DH and I are going to get landscaping stuff for the front yard now that the sewer line repair is flat and has grass on it. Get everything planted, clean the house, dinner with DH's parents.

Sunday - grocery shop, meal prep for the week, laundry, get a baby quilt quilted and bound for a friend. Bills game is at 4 that day so we have most of the day to get things done.

Not very exciting but I kind of like those weekends.  :)

Oh the fun of wedding thank you notes!! We didn't leave for our honeymoon until a week after the wedding. I was determined to have them all done before we left so as to not having those hanging over our heads. Fortunately since I'm a crazy feminist, H wrote to his family and friends and I did mine. It helped to divide and conquer!

We did the same thing- there was no way I was going to write them all by myself!

  • Friday- Taking my car in to get the seatbelts looked at. I have to pull them all the way out to lock them for my kids' carseats, but now one won't unlock even though it's retracted all the way, and the other takes a lot of effort to unlock every time. When I first spoke to someone about it, they said that's a known issue with my car but nothing is wrong with them, but obviously they're not supposed to operate that way.

Saturday- Working on a project for school, and working in the evening.

Sunday- Maybe more school work, and playing with my girls.

Yeah, so far I haven't had any luck with that.  I told him he at least needs to write the notes to his parents though, and of course sign all the ones I've written.  I've written 5 so far... only 39 more to go :-P

I'm not allowing myself to put away all the gifts (some I did) until the notes are written though, so the mess is starting to drive me crazy.
  • Friday -- World Market to pick up Pumpkin coffee, Ortho Pest control coming over this afternoon for their yearly service, watch Bridget's debt free scream  :) (from other post)

Saturday -- part-time job in morning, Costco run

Sunday -- brunch at one of my and my H's favorite restaurants, plus it is a mystery shopping assignment so I even get paid.  Cousin is coming into town from No. CA for her 30th b-day.  I haven't seen her since my wedding two years ago, looking forward to catching up!

  • Friday- nothing

Saturday- working, then we're having our first fire in our new fire pit. I can't wait!! I bought some pumpkin cider and banana bread beer to try. Seems pretty fall-ish, no? Maybe a few of our friends will come over to join us.

Sunday- cleaning/laundry. I'm also going to scrub the tub in our bathroom. Our new house has a huge soaking tub and I'd like to use it, but I'm weird about stuff like that. So I'm going to clean the hell out of it so I'll actually get in it. We'll see how far I get before I get grossed out.

I have never heard of either one of these items!  But I'm intrigued.  Are they sold where you live or did you all make these yourself?

Mmmm...huge soaking tub.  That is one of my dream wants.  I even tried to figure out how I could put one in my current house.  Not feasible at all.  I joked with my H we would have to take the roof off and lower it in with a crane, lol.

  • Friday-RELAX!

    Saturday-Leading a dive, then RELAX!

Sunday-RELAX!  I'm so excited to finally have a relatively quiet weekend.

@Mustard76 I've tried the banana bread beer!  It's alright.  Worth doing once!

    @jessica490 have a great party!

@formerlygdaisy09 I feel like sitting on an aisle and excusing yourself when necessary is totally valid in your situation!
  • haha, thanks @xstatic3333 my evenings of knitting this week have basically consisted of sitting on the couch and knitting while watching CSI and taking a pee-break after every single episode...so my bladder lasts approximately 42 minutes.

  • Tonight - going to the Royals ballgame tonight.  It's pretty exciting that they won the AL central division last night.  I'm hoping for another awesome post season this year.

Saturday - Get some pumpkins and bbq party at our house

    Sunday - relax and clean

  • @short+sassy I actually bought them both at Bed Bath and Beyond. I couldn't believe that they sold beer and wine when I stopped in there yesterday. WIN!

And the soaking tub is awesome to have... I think. We'll see if I can get in there and clean it well enough. I'm weird with stuff. I think it'll be worth it, though!
  • Friday - tonight we're going to Oktoberfest with friends. Can't wait - I'm hardcore missing Europe right now, so I hope a weissbier or two can quell it.

Saturday - miscellaneous things around the house, finish unpacking/laundry, and then my cousin's bachelorette!

Sunday - probably hungover. Though I really want to make it to church since we haven't been there all month due to our vacation...we'll see.

I did all of ours except a few key ones for H's family.  He was studying for final exams (I might have scheduled the wedding 2 weeks before finals...) so he had a legit excuse.

He did write all the ones that were in French though for the Belgian family members, thank goodness.  I have no idea what they said or if his French was good enough back then for them to even be understood.
