What's your vegetative state book?

My mom and sister and I decided this was a thing last night. We are always recommending books to each other, saying things like, "You HAVE to read {insert book title here}, it was SOOOO good." And often the other party just never gets around to it. And so we suggest it again. And again. and again. So last night my Mother randomly says, "If I'm ever in a vegetative state, I want you to read The Good Fairies of New York to me." I said, "Sure, fine. But Why? You already read it." She says, "That way I can die knowing you finally read that damn book!"

So then we all picked out our "vegetative state book". Is there a book you continue to suggest to people (or just someone), that would be your vegetative state book?

Re: What's your vegetative state book?

  • Obvious answer: HP (all 7 books)

This would require me to remain vegetative for a long time but I'll hang in there for a good cause.

    Non-obvious answer: Bossypants

That way I'll know I will have died laughing.

  • I always suggest A Wrinkle in Time.  People are like time travel? Space/Time 'continuum'? Hive minds?

  • I would have my BFF read me outlander. I suggested it to her when my nephew was born and she never touched it. She said she tried but I know the truth.

I think I would make mh read something by NR.

  • Harry Potter for sure. I know my SO would love them he is just to stubborn to read them.

  • Probably Gone with the Wind.  I first watched the movie when I was in elementary school and for some reason became instantly obsessed.  I wasn't that old.  I shouldn't have liked it but I LOVED it. I read the book in middle school and I've reread it to many times to count.  I love Outlander too.  I hardly ever suggest books I really super love because if the other person read it and didn't like it I would never want to hear about it.
