Re: Harry Potter Ambient Noise

  • We're moving to open space next week so this is perfect timing! I can't wait to pretend I'm working from the Ravenclaw common room.

    Thanks @jackiback!

I can't understand how it makes sense for attorneys to work in open space.  Aren't there confidentiality concerns?  At the last agency I worked at, attorneys were in a cubicle field and we could always hear everyone else's conversations.  Which was made even worse by the fact that attorneys rotated through rounds as hearing officers - so as an attorney, the dude in the next cubicle might be your hearing officer, but he could easily overhear your end of a settlement discussion on the phone with opposing counsel.  No bueno.
  • That's cool! I love the Leaky Cauldron except for the loud fire snapping sound.

@SusieBW We're supposed to use "breakout rooms" if we need privacy. :-/

  • @MrsC7 - good luck.  I feel like you should just adopt one of the "breakout rooms" into your very own office.

The introvert in my completely cringes at the idea of open work spaces in any environment, but the attorney in my cringes even harder at doing it in a law office.
  • I wish I had my own office. I deal with sensitive information like social security #s, birthdates, background info. I deserve a door, damnit!

  • @jackiback We moved to open space this week and HP ambient noise is saving my life. I can pretend I'm in the Ravenclaw common room instead of in an office cafeteria. Thanks for posting!
