Re: Randoms/Confessions

  • I really want an NBCer to do a read and review of the gender-swapped Twilight.
Duxcaelo's book recommendations, favorite quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (2011-goodreads shelf)
    Anniversary
  • I don't feel like I've done jack today but I've supervised the hell out of other people doing stuff, and I'm tired because I've "worked" so hard. And my alignment is all effed up and I hurt a lot but my chiro appointment isn't until Monday. Hello, Advil.

Yesterday I had one of those rare days where I actually felt like I know what the heck I am doing in my job and it was a huge confidence booster. I led a group of students from a nearby college on a tour of the museum and they were really engaged and even the professor was learning stuff about exhibit design and construction. Normally I feel like a total fraud at work!

I want to go home and read The Martian. I'm tired.

  • I slowly working my way through reading The Bronze Horseman, and man has that book taken a turn.  I don't want to spoil anything (though I am probably the last person here to read this book), but it went from being SUCH a downer to so much sexy time, right?  It feels like two different books.  I think I'm about 60% through.  It's so good, but the past few days, I've just been really surprised by how the book has turned around so much.  And also, I'm waiting for the next awful thing to happen.
  • And also, Pitch Perfect 2 on blu-ray is ready for me to pick up from my library.  I can't wait to make DH watch it this weekend.
  • I'm about 75% done with The Library at Mount Char and I can't decide if I like it or not. It's holding my interest but ... like?

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I am going to eat an entire box of Kraft mac & cheese for lunch today.

Also, I keep looking at my gifts from my elf and smiling like a dork.

  • I know it's a year away but I think I'm going to have to de-activate my facebook until after the presidential election.  I can't handle the stupid.

@SnShne322 Big hugs to you dear.  (I saw your post yesterday but wasn't able to comment from my phone).

I should also start this. Good rule of thumb don't talk politics at all, but it's just you're the red team and I hate you for that, blue team rules or vice versa.

I'm super pumped that Aladdin is out on Blue-Ray, somehow I've never owned it so I'm going to buy the special edition. Hopefully I don't cry at the end, I was a huge Robin Williams fan.

Finally, I have to shop for my husband's birthday gift(s). I don't like shopping much so I'm seriously debating looking for Christmas gifts while I'm out and stashing them.

  • My confession is that I asked months ago about why the challenges had disappeared and like a jerk I disappeared too. I miss the challenges and the board but randomly life just jerks me away. If anyone ever wants to try to start up the challenges again I would love to help.

DH is going away for the whole week next week, and I'm kind of looking forward to it.  I mean, it's going to be a pain having to do everything at home and with the kids by myself for the week, but it's only a week.  I'm looking forward to having one less person to clean up after.  And to peace and quiet in my house every night after the kids go to bed.

Then, he comes home on Friday afternoon, but I'm leaving Friday morning for my girls weekend trip.  So he's on his own with the kids for the weekend and it'll be a well-deserved break for me for the weekend.  Psyched.
Holy crap! Same here except for the last bit. I'm not going anywhere. I'll miss him but I am so looking forward to it. Once DS is asleep, I'll  watch whatever I want I want on TV (NewGirl, TVD, & The Originals) without any gripes. None of his laundry to do or dishes. It's going to be awesome, except for taking out the trash and dealing with the dog's shenanigans. Scout is a sweet dog but he listens to DH much better. He knows I am a pushover. :)
