Implantation bleeding or AF?

3 weeks ago my H and I had sex and the only form of BC we used was the VCF. For the last almost 2 weeks my breasts have been VERY tender and I have been so tired, had food aversions, and just felt so moody. Yesterday I started bleeding. Started out only when I would wipe, now I have to wear a light days pad or liner and change it every so often, but the bleeding is light red/pink and there has not been any mucus or discharge with it. I am 4 days until my period is supposed to start. Does this sound like implantation or just an early visit from AF?

  • I should mention I took a HPT yesterday morning and it was negative.

This could be stress or who knows what.

See a physician. We are not doctors or clinicians and a message board is not the place to go to get critical medical advice.

See your doctor anyway.  Why?? You need a good form of birth control.

IF you are not crazy about hormonal methods, try a diaphragm or something else that is a barrier method.

It is also possible to have your period while you are pregnant or to conceive during pregnancy. Get to a doc and get a medical opinion, an exam, a pregnancy test....and birth control. GL.

  • Rule of thumb when it comes to pregnancy, if you are getting symptoms you can most likely turn a test positive, especially if using first morning urine. Your symptoms are also pms symptoms as well. It could be implantation spotting or something else. Some women do have spotting for a few days before their period becomes heavier too. I would wait 5 or 6 days, if you haven't gotten your period by then, test again with first morning urine.
  • Another vote to consider going to see a doctor
