I joined Thirty One Gifts this week. It's something I've gone back and forth about since spring. I like the idea of being able to make a little money on the side. BUT I fully realize that I am not a "sales" person so realistically I won't be making a lot of extra money. P got his commission check and we had decided I could join when he got that so I wasn't using money from our regular monthly budget. I'm excited and terrified at the same time. I love their stuff but I feel like the home based market for stuff like this is saturated between Jamberry, Younique Makeup, all the different jewelry companies, all the different get in shape ones like Beachbody, ect. I honestly don't know many people who sell Thirty One, but I know most people are tired of being approached to buy or try something. Maybe that's just me??

Megan - I ended up closing my Etsy shop. I only made one or two sales through it. I still have my Facebook page open for orders. I had one order a few weeks back. It was small stuff and so I didn't make a bunch but it was something. Honestly the people I've seen make a lot on the clothing front are people who sew up a lot of outfits, start out at craft fairs, ect. They have ready to sell items and I was wanting to avoid putting that much money into fabric without an order already out there. I wanted to do more custom orders. I have a local lady through my mom group that wanted me to sew up some stuff for her. She has the supplies and is supposed to be bringing them to me this week. She is going to pay me to sew them for her. So that's a little extra money there.
Mark - I met with my sponsor today. She didn't mention taxes but she made me think of them when she mentioned tracking my mileage for a tax write off. I'm definitely going to be keeping a spreadsheet of everything.
