Monday Accountability Post
1. How MM was your weekend?
2. Any progress towards goals?
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
Re: Monday Accountability Post
1. How MM was your weekend? It was a little nuts- Groceries ($199), Target ($150- $50 of that on candy! and I will be returning about $20 for a wrong size item), new winter coats for DH and me ($350 but very needed!).
2. Any progress towards goals? Not a paycheck this week so no changes.
3. What are your plans for Halloween? DH takes the girls out trick or treating and I stay back to pass out candy- it's non stop at our house from 5:30-8pm (when we shut the lights off) so we go through 9-10 bags of candy easily. The girls usually go to 10 or so houses and then DH takes them to see his parents- they're both Merida this year (my mom made the costumes- they look awesome!)
1. $4 grocery store for dessert, $65 Sports Authority
2. Nothing, we get paid this week (no insurance taken out!)
3. We are going to set up the fire pit in the front yard and give out candy in our new neighborhood, it should be busy!
1. How MM was your weekend?
Friday night I got takeout sushi - $55 but in the budget. Saturday we had a private dog training session $72, but also budgeted for. I spent about $40-50 on groceries (don't remember the exact number off the top of my head, but it's written down).
2. Any progress towards goals?
Nope. Right now the goal is to keep on budget since things are a little tighter than ususal. We don't have any wiggle room to go over in any category because H is getting paid a lower rate for training so we are bringing in the exact amount of money we need. Also his new job hasn't paid him this entire month, so we will probably have to pull money out of savings to pay all of our bills are the end of the month. I'm super annoyed (he started work 10/2 and no one knows where his paychecks are and the direct deposit has gone through twice as $0).
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
Nothing. We will probably just stay in. We are in an apartment building and there are a few kids around, so we will buy a little candy in case anyone comes by.
1. How MM was your weekend? It was great actually. Ate at home all weekend, which we often struggle with. Only expenses were budgeted-gas, groceries, etc.
2. Any progress towards goals? I set up automatic payments for the credit card portion of our front porch (even though it's not even finished yet) and made the first payment. It's exciting to see that we are already making progress paying it off before we've even written the check
3. What are your plans for Halloween? Too many! We're really not that into Halloween, but you wouldn't know it from our plans. Friday day--potluck party at work; Friday night-going to H's friend's annual Halloween party. H wants to go because he usually gets to see people he hasn't seen in awhile. Saturday day--volunteering w/ the Jaycees to help at the annual Halloween parade; Saturday night--H's coworker's annual Halloween party. I'm just in it for the free food!
1. How MM was your weekend?
Good! $76 total for groceries which was great considering we needed some cleaning supplies and got a 6-pack for when we are having friends over Tuesday. We've got $5 left in the grocery budget for October and no known needs.
2. Any progress towards goals?
Not this week.
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
Nothing! I'm going to work on some DIY projects with my blow money. DH may or may not be golfing. Thankfully Mizzou is on bye and I won't even have to suffer through watching another one of their games Saturday. Hopefully a quiet Saturday!
2. Staying the course. Did a great job this week with menu planning and cooking at home. Also got some yard work done and, inspired by @hoffse, redid my jeans with new folding. The jeans are much better organized now and more fit into my drawer!
3. Party on Wed in the city that we will try to win a costume contest with our Pulp Fiction costumes. Party on Saturday at a friend's house that we will wear different costumes to (we did PF there last year so I want something different this year). Potluck at work on Friday.
1. How MM was your weekend? Eh, not great. I spent $150 at Costco but it was all stuff we needed and budgeted for. Also filled up with gas while I was there, that was $22. On Saturday did grocery shopping, that was $40, and we went to eat at Smashburger for lunch, that was around $20. Hockey game in the evening, I didn't spend any but H did. After the game we had Taco Bell, that was around $12. Sunday, we drove to Laramie to watch H's nephew play in an all star football tournament. Had to fill up with gas again on the way home, that was $33. Went to dinner with my cousin and aunt in the evening, but my cousin paid for my dinner because I gave her 5 dozen jelly jars, she makes her own cranberry sauce to sell.
2. Any progress towards goals? Not really, not a paycheck week.
3. What are your plans for Halloween? Some friends of ours are having a party so we're going to that. They always throw really fun parties. I did buy some candy in case the neighbor kids stop by, but I don't suspect we'll get a lot of traffic before we leave for the party, our neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks or street lights.
Pretty good. $30 for decorations and candy for Trunk or Treat, $60 for groceries.
2. Any progress towards goals?
Very excited about my extra pay week this month. It's going into savings.
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
I'll take the kids out trick or treating for a little bit, and then come back and help H finish passing out candy. We usually watch a movie as well.
- Expensive, but budgeted. $462 at the DMV to register our vehicles and get new DLs. This is our last moving expense, and came out of our moving budget. $30 at the bar with our friend on Saturday afternoon, paid in cash. That's it!
2. Any progress towards goals?
- $250 to our vacation fund for Vegas in April.
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
- Going to my niece's football game in the morning. My mom will be in town, so we're just staying home and handing out candy. It's our first year in our new place, so I have no idea how much candy we're going to go through, so we have a TON. Hopefully we go through it all.
1. How MM was your weekend?
Great. Stayed in Friday. We stayed in Saturday morning, spent $7 on Taco Bell for lunch. Then got a free dinner at a rehearsal dinner, and free babysitting from my mom. Spent $13 on cat food. Sunday was the wedding, so nothing spent there, well, spent $45 on babysitting. But everything was budgeted in.
2. Any progress towards goals?
We've hit our most recent goals, so just maintaining.
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
Probably find some trunk or treat or activity during the day, and then trick or treating with my brother's family that night. It's our daughter's first Halloween, so she can't really trick or treat, but it'll be fun to go out.
1. How MM was your weekend?
Really good. I got a drink and some ice cream at Target ($5), but I also went in to return a shirt because they sent me the wrong color for the second time. They refunded the shirt, gave me a $3 coupon to use on anything, and they told me they were going to send me the right shirt without charging me. Didn't spend anything else all weekend.
2. Any progress towards goals?
No changes until next month.
3. What are your plans for Halloween?
We're going to take the girls trick-or-treating. DD1 is going to be Sofia the First, and DD2 is going to be Sully from Monsters Inc. We'll probably only go to a couple houses because they're very young (2.5 and 1). Then maybe watch a movie...not too sure yet.
2. Nope, not this week.
3. We're going trick or treating with friends at the mall, then going to MIL's neighborhood to trick or treat some more. MIL is watching the baby while we take the older two out.
2. Token $40 into savings to keep the habit going. We also learned that H doesn't need a root canal, which is amazing financial news.
3. We'll pass out candy here and maybe make Jack O'Lanterns.
2. Nothing too exciting last week. $370 to student loans. But this week we'll send $2,400 to student loans and $1,000 to travel savings.
3. Halloween party. I'm dreading it a little bit... We're not fans of Halloween and H refuses to go/dress up, but it's been a few weeks since I've seen my girlfriends, so I'm going to suck it up!
Oh no! I remember reading on your travel post yesterday you were really hoping the request for the 2nd place would go through. Sorry to hear it didn't work out.
Thanks! It's all good :-) We just booked one with an instant book option. It's slightly more pricy ($920 for 8 nights) but I'll still call it a win for one of the priciest cities in the world. And it has a canal view!Oh no! I remember reading on your travel post yesterday you were really hoping the request for the 2nd place would go through. Sorry to hear it didn't work out.
I'm a little late to the party but:
1. How MM was your weekend? Not bad! I was in Nashville for work so it was busy but any money spent was covered in my travel reimbursement. I don't know exact totals off the top of my head.
2. Any progress towards goals? This wasn't a pay week so nothing huge. I actually got a check for $350 last night from my father from my grandfather who passed away in November. They were finally able to sell his house a couple months ago and my dad gave each us a small portion of it. It was a really sweet gesture from him. So that will be going into savings towards our 6 month e-fund.
3. What are your plans for Halloween? We are going to hand out candy and go to a Halloween party. I love Halloween so I'm hoping I can convince H to go to a haunted house this week too
