I'm finally watching Outlander (spoilers)

I have one episode left in season 1, and when I stopped watching last night, Jamie was still in Wentworth with Randall doing all kinds of unsavory things to him.  That guy is such a letch.  The faces he makes ... gross.  The casting is great, though.  I think that guys fits the part of a sadistic pervert perfectly.

Anyway, last night, I watched the episode where Claire and Murtagh are traveling across the highlands on their singing and dancing revival tour hoping to find Jamie.  Did that happen in the book?  The singing and dancing, I mean?  I don't remember it, if it did.  And if it didn't, where was Claire while Jamie was hiding?  I remember Jamie hiding out in a little hidey hole at some point, but not what Claire was up to.  I read the first book years and years ago, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

I have so many more things to say about this show, but I can't even remember them all now.  I missed all the discussion when the show was airing, so if anyone wants to relive all that discussion, I'd love to talk more about the show now.  What did you love and hate about it?  What were the biggest changes you noted from the book?

  • Also, between watching Pitch Perfect 2 last week and then Claire singing it in that episode last night, the Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B is ingrained in my head right now.  I cannot stop humming it!
  • Yes, they did do the traveling show in the book.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • Yes, the traveling show was in the book, but I don't recall ALL the details.  I remember fortune telling a bit, I think.

  • I watched the last episode last night.  Holy crap.  I know everyone said it was violent and graphic, but I wasn't prepared.  Ugh, that was hard to watch.

    Overall, I loved the series.
