My Birthday
Saturday was my 36th birthday. I feel so old. We had DH's cousin's wedding to go to 3 hours away and we had to take my MIL and FIL. They didn't even say happy birthday to me, despite the fact that it was mentioned several times throughout the night that it was my birthday. I thought that was very rude that they didn't even acknowledge it. I am still pissed off by it.
Yesterday we went to dinner at a nice restaurant with my family. I had to plan it, make the reservation, let everyone know the details, etc. I even had to ask the server for a candle, because no one else even thought about it. My one brother didn't come and didn't even let me know why or apologize. When the bill came there was a major problem with the total. My sister (who has worked in the service industry for years) was mad at my mom for questioning the server, even though there was a huge mistake. Then, she got really mad at the tip amount that my mom was putting down. (This is common when we go out to eat with my sister). My brother had some not so nice things to say to my sister and she stormed off and left very mad. My mom got upset and now is saying she never wants to do family dinners anymore.
What a major letdown from my family. I'm not sure how Thanksgiving is gonna go. I usually host that at my house. I don't want to if all everyone is gonna do is fight.

I often have the same thing with my birthdays since I turned 21. I know that as you get older, birthdays aren't a huge huge deal but still.....acknowledgment would be nice.
