I have decided that people disgust me....

For those of you who don't know, my parents recently closed on a house for their retirement.  When they looked at the house, there was a swing/play set in the back yard.  When they closed, it was gone and we figured they had taken it with them.  Well, they found it this weekend.  They chopped it up and tossed it in the woods behind the house. :(

Like why would you do this?

  • That's just weird. Yet, it doesn't surprise me. My neighbor would do that too.

I just shake my head.  I mean we wouldn't have been upset if they'd taken it with them, but to cut it up and leave the pieces in the woods?

  • That's awful.  If they didn't want it, why would they assume your parents wouldn't?  They could have asked.  What a waste!!!

  • That's awful. = (. I hate people like that.

We had a swing set in our backyard, but we ended up taking it down and giving it to my aunt for my younger cousin. We didn't think we would be having kids so soon and it was an older one. We didn't want to just toss it away when it still had a few good years left in it.

  • Now that I"m thinking about it, isn't there something in the agreement of sale that stuff like that has to stay?

No.  My parents were of the opinion if it stayed, great.  It not, oh well.  Just more the idea that instead of leaving it, they actually went through the effort to chop it up and just leave it in the woods.

Yeah.  The funny thing is they told my parents they could keep the Christmas tree that was in an alcove above the door.
