I thought it was good. I didn't like it as much as Amy & Roger but it was cute. I liked the list and how it made Emily come out of her shell.

I really didn't like Emily for the first half or so of the book. Her dependence on Sloane was exhausting to me. Maybe I'm just too old to remember ever feeling that way. I finally started to enjoy watching the story play out once Emily was starting to realize that she didn't need Sloane at all.

So I didn't hate it, but it wasn't my favorite YA, either. I think I gave it three stars.

It's funny, I read about 10% of Amy and Roger and got bored and haven't picked it up since. I flew through this one. One thing I really noticed was how good of a job the author did of making Frank be unremarkable and turn into a really amazing guy.

Frank reminded me of a whole mess of top-of-the-class smart kids I went to high school with. They appear to be run of the mill nerds, and maybe even come off as snobby, but are actually really awesome people underneath.

@SusieBW - I really disliked how Sloane could just disappear and no one but Emily was weirded out by it. And seriously? You wouldn't tell your parents that your best friend just up and disappeared? I thought that was so flawed.

It took me a while to get into this one. I didn't love Emily for the first few chapters (and I still don't love Sloane) but overall I enjoyed the book. I love Frank and Collins.

I really liked it. It took me a while to get on board, and I really still struggle with YA contemporary romance, but I felt like this romance was more typical high school relationship and didn't go the whole "this is her one true love" route. I wasn't a huge fan of Sloane, and there were times when I wanted Emily to just suck it up and be her own person, but I think that me as a teenager would have identified with her SO much.

I enjoyed the book overall. I wasn't a fan of Emily in the beginning, but she grew on me. Sloane, on the other hand...UGH. I could not stand her. Collins cracked me up. I also thought it was odd that Sloane just completely disappeared, and Emily said nothing to anyone. And no one said anything to her.

Another ditto. Also I agree, how did her parents not know her bff was suddenly gone? Why was she the only one feaked out by Sloane's absence?

She did lie to everyone who asked about Sloane initially. Folks probably assumed that Emily would know better than most people about where she was if they were always together all the time, right?

But yeah, still a parenting fail.

I am only about 25% or so into this and am not really enjoying it. I am having trouble getting over the her best friend would disappear and everyone would be oblivious about it. I'm honestly not sure if I'll finish this one.

I had a hard time getting into it, but 100 pages in or so it really picked up. I agree I liked Frank once you got to know him. If they stuck to the plot I think this would be a fun movie with all of the different adventures. This one felt more real than some other YA romance, but still I never knew anyone who could have as many adventures in real life. Being from NE I have doubts if you can drive from CT to SC in 12 hours but it's a book and it made for a good story.

I liked Emily a lot more when she came out of her shell, definitely had to think "was I that much like Emily" too? I don't think I liked Sloane too much, I'm glad I read the whole way through, the ending made me like Sloane a little bit more understanding her background and reasons for being the way she is.
