NBR what's on your Christmas list?

I know this is a great problem to have...but I'm stuck on what I want to ask for Christmas. I said on a different thread DH and I are trying to save up so we're not trying to spend too much this season. Just curious what's on your wish list?

Also, I know most of you use Overdrive, Libraries and other free resources to read, but does anyone purchase the B&N membership? DH and I only go a few times a year, but everytime I go I think "would it be worth it"? Anyone have any feedback, it's only $25 for the year. Figured I could ask my dad for a B&N gift card then use the money to buy the membership.

Re: NBR what's on your Christmas list?

  • I used to have a B&N membership that my MIL would buy me every year for Christmas, and it was SO worth it for the free shipping from B&N.com (and really, they are going to put their own brick and mortar stores out of business with how much cheaper everything is on the website, but that's a whole other thing).  But now that I really don't buy actual books much anymore, it stopped being worth it for me.

My Christmas list includes some records, cable knit leg warmers, really fancy new beach chairs, and a fleece lined flannel from LL Bean.  Some new earrings would be nice too, but I don't think I've actually asked anyone for those . . .
  • Let's see...

    1. flannel PJs (sexy, I know!)
    2. L.L. Bean penny loafers
    3. Amazon or B&N GCs for books
    4. a Robot vacuum
    5. Sweat pants
    6. Spa GC

  • For the most part these are just things on my Amazon wish list. I have a birthday coming up, too, and since my Mom is the only person who buys me a Christmas present, it's mostly for that. Not that I expect anything off this list, but it's called a WISH list for a reason.

    1. Birchbox subscription
    2. A new Kindle fire (my current one doesn't hold a charge for long)
    3. A new kitchen knife set. My current one sucks
    4. A new Garmin GPS. Our GPS is so old it won't update anymore.
    5. Several different books
    6. The meat grinding attachments for a KitchenAid mixer
    7. One of those contraptions that let you turn your bicycle into a stationary indoor bike
    8. Amazon gift cards are always nice
    9. This one is embarrassing but I really want to learn how to do contact juggling like Bowie's character in Labyrinth did. OK, so it was a guy behind Bowie but I still think that's the coolest damn thing!

For the record, I think this is awesome too. No need to be embarassed. :)

It seems like it would work really well and also be easy to store. imagehttp://www.amazon.com/dp/B0094KIVQW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=Z5XYJH0Z6V8B&coliid=IFSVP44EPUYDH

The Spanish exchange gifts on Epiphany. You can channel them for this season. :)

  • The only "big" things I'm asking for are a Kindle Paperwhite and a Nutribullet so I can replace carby breakfast foods with fruit/veggie smoothies.  I've also got quite a few coloring books on my list and more of the Penguin Drop Caps series.

Technically Little Christmas is what January 5th or 6th when the 3 wise men got there. My mom always kept the tree up until that day to honor "true Christmas" I do hope you have a nice day whenever you get to celebrate
  • I get the B&N card.  B&N gift cards are the go-to gift for me, and it's worth it.  Also, my birthday is a few days after Christmas so everyone's all idea'ed out.

In other words, the *real* 12 days of Christmas!  :)  (12 days between Christmas & Little Christmas/Epiphany)  I keep my tree up through that date as well.
