AW: Subrogation worked!

I had a nice surprise in the mailbox yesterday!  Some of you might remember that we got rear ended by an uninsured driver in Denver while we were on vacation last summer.  Well, a few months ago I got a letter from my insurance company stating that they were going into subrogation to try to reclaim their expenses.  I really wasn't expecting anything to come of it. I am happy to report that it worked!  So we got our $250 deductible refunded back to us yesterday.  Since that was cash-flowed way back when it happened, it's now an extra little bonus in our savings account!

Re: AW: Subrogation worked!

  • What a nice surprise!
  • Congrats!

Funnily enough, I had the same thing happen to me this morning! The only difference was I was hit by an insured driver but I initiated a claim with my insurance company since I'd rather deal with them any day. I guess the subrogation process is complete because I got an additional check deposited in my account this morning for my deductible. They paid me the value of my car back in November after the accident but it was less my deductible so it was nice to see that extra bit come through as well.
  • Awesome!  So nice when systems work.

My husband was hit in a hit in run and we were so lucky that he got the license plate of the driver, and before we even had to pay the deductible her insurance paid ours for everything.
