What did you read this weekend?

Trying to get more activity here. What did you read this weekend? Where are you with your yearly goal? Did you do anything fun this weekend?

Re: What did you read this weekend?

  • I didn't read very much.  I got through a little more on Station Eleven.  It started out strong then got a little slow but is starting to pick up again.  Hopefully I'll finish this week.  I'm way behind on my goal so far.  I got to pick up the pace!
  • I started both Lafayette and the Somewhat United States and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms because they both came in from my library e-book holds. I'm probably going to put the first one aside because I'm next for the audio version and I think I'll just switch to that when it comes.

I had four shows in three days this weekend, so I basically lived at the theatre all weekend. We were sold out both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, so that was awesome. The show has been very well received.

  • I read The Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones.  I gave it 3 stars, I didn't love it as much as I usually love this series.  Feb was a bad reading month for me so I'm only at 7 out 116.

Had a good weekend.  Busy running around with the kids and a girls night with my bf Sat.

  • I'm reading The Red Queen right now and it's fun. I like it a lot so far. This weekend was good! Busy with sports and activities. DD had her 1st soccer game.

  • I barely read anything this weekend! I reread Little House in the Big Woods, just for fun. I got a little farther into Truthwitch, but It's slow for me.

I had a terrific weekend, yesterday, DH and I spent most of the day riding around town on our bikes. We played a little basketball at a local school, stopped at starbucks...it was beautiful out and so perfect!

  • I put a dent in "Dark Places" although I'm still only about 35% of the way through. It started off strong but it's leveled out for me. I'm borrowing the e-book too, trying immersion reading in hopes the book will pick up again. I also know there's at least one twist coming, I thought I knew what it was but I think I'm wrong now.

I took Friday off and had a date day with DH, that was nice. Other than that nothing too exciting caught up on laundry and DVR.
  • I finished Darkfever and started on Bloodfever.  I'm rereading the Fever series and loving it like I did the first time around.  It was so long ago now, that it's almost fresh.

  • I didn't read much this weekend...because @jackiback and @jennie728 were at my house!  I did finish the last few pages of The Royal We and read a lot of The Ex after the left yesterday, but the majority of my weekend was spent with my mouth open, either talking or eating.

  • I finished The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I enjoyed it. I seem to like her books a lot despite being able to guess a lot of the twists ahead of time. It was only #6 for the year, so I'm already behind.

I'm not sure what to read next. I'm thinking Jane Eyre reread since I can't remember much about it from high school. Or whatever JD Robb book is next on my list.

I've been contemplating doing a reread soon. Sounds like the Fever series might be a good idea. :)

  • I read Down to You by M. Leighton this weekend. It was just okay. I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately.

  • I quit on the Hamilton book I was reading.  I read the intro to the Federalist Papers, but I don't even think I got through it before I fell asleep.  I started Founding Brothers by Joseph Ellis, and have read maybe 5 pages of it.  I was exhausted and/or drunk by the time I went to bed all weekend, so not much reading happened.

DH and I had a really fun date night on Saturday - new phones at the T-Mobile store, checking out floor tiles at Home Depot, then restaurant and bar hopping around downcity since it was such a nice night to walk around.  We took the kids to the aquarium on Sunday, too.
  • Happy belated birthday packfan!

  • I finished 'The Vatican Princess' by C.W. Gortner and started reading 'It Starts With Food' by Dallas Hartwig.  My goal is 52 books this year and I have read 8 so according to goodreads, I am ahead.

We got to spend a lot of time outside this weekend because the weather was beautiful but I also had to spend time writing a paper for my class (it sucked).
