What did you read this weekend?

Hope I'm not stepping on toes here...What did you read, make progress on or ignore this weekend? Did you do anything fun? Anyone watch the Oscars?

Re: What did you read this weekend?

  • I finished Lafayette and the Somewhat United States on my way in to work this morning, and I made good progress on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

I had four shows in 3 days this past weekend, and all but one was a sold out performance. Very busy but it was so much fun. I'll really miss this cast.

I caught about half an hour of the Oscars but that's it.

  • I read Shooter by Dahlia West. It was okay. I've burnt myself out on NA and need to read a different genre.

My dog got sprayed in the face by a skunk on Saturday night.  Absolutely not fun. I had to make a past of baking soda and Dawn dish soap, put it on him like shampoo, allow it to set for about 10 minutes, and then put peroxide on him and rinse it all off. Worked great but he took a direct hit right to the face, so I couldn't really get that potion too close to his eyes. We put his kennel in the garage that night and let him sleep out there. It's heated so it's not like it was a great hardship for him, but it certainly wasn't our bed, where he is used to sleeping. Spoiled!

    Congrats on the sold-out shows!

  • I read the first two chaperts or The Siren by Keira Cass Friday afternoon then neglected reading the rest of the weekend.

Fun, busy weekend for us.  No Oscar watching though.

Did you like Worlds of Ink and Shadow?  I just got it in my Owl Crate last month and it looks really good.

  • I made progress on 'It Starts with Food'.  The weekend was busy but relaxing.

    That's where I got it. :P
It wasn't what I was expecting but it was entertaining as an origin story. I think I only really enjoyed it because I love the Bronte sisters and I didn't take it too seriously. Someone wrote a review on GR and was complaining because she supposedly lived in the town they were from and new all about the sisters and it wasn't good enough for her. *shrug*

I love the Bronte sisters too so I'm excited to read it.  The info card said she did a lot of research about them before she wrote it.  Who cares if that's where she's from.  I'm sure that's how she got inspired to write about them.

  • I made a good dent in Voyager.

I had a girls day with lunch and outlet mall shopping with my cousin yesterday. It was much needed and a lot of fun.

I watched the opening monologue of the Oscars.

  • I barely read this weekend, despite the hubs being away on a guys trip.  I spent most of my time organizing my closet and catching up on Downton.

I did watch most of the Oscars and I'm really happy with the way the acting/best picture awards went.
  • Still chipping away at "Dark Places", made a good dent this weekend though. If all goes well I'll finish by the end of this week.

Tried a new restaurant in town. Only saw a few minutes of the Oscar's, not a Lady Gaga fan but her performance was really good.

@dutchgirl76 - I'm the one who has been doing this and if you're willing to take it over, please do!  I don't get to work until 4 on Mondays, so everyone is pretty much gone by the time I get here.

I read The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a Fuck, which was hilarious and also inspiring and I read American Housewife, which was hilarious and I could not put it down.  My first really good reading weekend this year, honestly.

I hosted book club Saturday and one of DH's friends came into town for the weekend, so we hung out with him.  Nothing major, super relaxing, and lots of time for reading.
