Ugh, Monday. What did you read/do this weekend?

It's Monday again. Funny how that works. What did you read/neglect/finish this past weekend? Do anything fun?

For me, I finished The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter. I gave it two stars because it was rambly and pointless and it was labeled as a mystery, which isn't really my genre, but there wasn't ANY mystery in it. Just a bunch of loosely tied together people in a small Tennessee town. Meh.

I'm still listening to Raven Boys and still loving it. A little miffed that I'll have a passenger on my way to conference on Saturday because I had planned to put in some quality audio book time during my 4 hour drive and this coworker never. shuts. up.

My weekend was very relaxing. After several weeks of go-go-go, I had some downtime and it was glorious.

  • I started Kyland by Mia Sheridan. I really enjoyed Archer's Voice by her, so I have high hopes.

I took DS to a bithday party on Saturday.  It was for one of his buddies from preschool. It was kind of awkward. DS is painfully shy so it took the first half of the party for him to warm up. Oh and this little girl from his class would not stop bugging him. It was cute the first time, but got annoying pretty quickly. I tried the "Sweetie, he doesn't feel like being hugged/squeezed right now." to no avail. I didn't want to be a total arse because the poor little girl lost her mother earlier this year and I know she is going through a lot right now.

I binge-watched episodes of Friday Night Lights on Netflix after DS went to bed on Saturday.  That's my kind of football. lol

  • @CeeCeeSugaPie  I love FNL! I'm about halfway through the third season.

I finished the 5th book in the Blue Heron series.  It was a quick, enjoyable read.  We didn't do too much.  Some cleaning and we drove by a few houses that we thought we might be interested.  They were kind of a bust.

  • @SnShne322   I just started the second season. It is so addictive. If I went to Dillon High, I would have been all over Time Riggins like white on rice. The crap with Landon and Tyra is killing me. I just watched the part where Landon and his Dad burnt up the car, but haven't gotten any further.

  • I finally finished Dark Places and started Paper Towns...got 50 pages in and it's ok, but not as good as FIOS.

I worked Saturday then DH and I went out to dinner and watched Dark Places the movie, it was pretty good, very close to the book just cut out a lot of minor stuff.

Oh Timmy.  He's divine. He's such a dislikable yet loveable character.

  • I started The Revenger by Debra Anastasia, but book + baby + family events + freelance work + day job + pumping + dinners + housework = not much reading.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • I'm reading the first in a series called The Mageri.  I like it so far but I'm curious where the story is going.
