So my male cousin is getting married this Spring. I don't really care for his fiance. Nothing personal, we just don't really have much to talk about and, TBH, she is kind of flaky. I got an invite to the bridal shower the other day. Most of his female friends, who are also my friends, got invited as well. None of us want to go because the invite says "Derby attire of dresses and hats strongly encouraged." or something like that. No flippin' thank you. Would you guys go buy "derby attire" just to go to a bridal shower for someone you aren't even close to? Should I just suck it up and go? I do plan on sending a gift.

But if you really aren't into going, then just skip it and send a gift. Say you have other plans that day or something.
