Thursday Randoms

Go!

I'll start. Today has been crap so far. DS spilled OJ & Cheerios on our new rug this morning. Totally an accident, but I had to clean that crap up and then make sure our laminate floor underneath was clean & dry. Stubbed my toes getting in the stupid car. I have had to rearrange or schedule 50 million meetings today. DS is having surgery on his thumb tomorrow at the butt crack of dawn. I'm glad we are their first case at 6:30, but I am not super excited about getting up at 4:00 to get ready and get there on time.

Whew. Okay, that's enough fussing. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

Re: Thursday Randoms

  • So this is probably a little deep for Thursday randoms, but it's been on my mind all morning.

I'm not a particularly spiritual person.  Without expounding too far, I feel like there are things out there that are unexplainable, but I really don't know where I stand.  Maybe it's relevant, maybe not.  I also remember most of my dreams.  I dream about many, many people.  Alive, passed on.  Twice in my life I feel like there's something strange about the dream.  One was about 10 years ago and involved a classmate that passed away.  And last night, a dream with an old friend that took his own life 3 years ago.  I don't know what I believe, but it almost made me feel like they visited me.  Is that strange?  It feels a little self absorbed, but they just felt different.  I'm not sure why I posted it here.  I might delete. I think I just needed to "say" it.

  • @SnShne322. I didn't quote you in case you decide to delete.  While I do consider myself a spiritual person, I often feel like there are many things that just can't be explained.  I'm okay with it. Dreams can be so stinkin' vivid sometimes. I had a dream after my dog, Jack passed away suddenly, and I swear he was telling my goodbye. My nephew talks about things that happened before he was born, particularly his great grandfather who passed away before he was born.

I am dreading the 4 hour drive to Williamsburg and back with one of my coworkers. We're going to a conference. She's nice, she's friendly, but she never, EVER stops talking. Like ever. I swear she wakes up talking and probably talks in her sleep. And she can't have a conversation without interrupting you and interjecting what she thinks you're trying to say. It's really annoying, and I tend to stop trying to talk because I get tired of trying to complete a single sentence. Plus, she's loud. Really loud. There is a strong possibility that I may kill her and dump her body over the scenic overlook area outside of Charlottesville. If you hear a story on the news about that, it was me. No one will convict me who knows her, because they'll understand.

Thank GOD we don't have to share a room.

My son used to talk to/about people he saw that nobody else could see.  One day at my parents house he kept staring off into the other room and would smile and wave.  There was nobody there.  Then he started having a conversation with someone.  He said it was a man who had a hurt leg.  He also told me one time when I was getting him ready for bed that he couldn't go to sleep because the man in his room kept him up at night.  I've walked into his room hours after putting him to bed to check on him and found him wide awake, his eyes open wide just staring, totally silent.  It's creepy as hell.  He hasn't done it in years though so hopefully that's over.

My grandmother wasn't doing well last week and my parents thought she was going to pass away.  She's 98 and fell and broke her hip.  My mother is a home health nurse and has to care for a lot of elderly people.  She said a lot of times when people are in the process of dying they will talk about buses or trains.  Like they are waiting for a bus or train.  I guess my grandmother started talking about trains and how she was waiting for one with all these people she didn't know but the train only picked up one person at a time.  Creepy.  I guess she missed her train because she is doing better.
