Weekend Plans

TGIF. I'm glad this week is over! After all the layoffs, I need this weekend badly!

What are your plans?

Re: Weekend Plans

  • Friday- Maybe take-out for dinner? Otherwise, just hanging out

Saturday- H is working some OT, so I will be home cleaning a little and doing some painting. Maybe I'll even hit the gym

Sunday- We are supposed to go to my parents for dinner (corned beef and cabbage-yum!), but we are supposed to get a snow storm from Sunday-Monday, UGH!! Go away snow!!! It's been so nice without you...I have a few daffodils and croacases that have already bloomed, I hope they don't die!

  • Friday - I'm snowed under with work, but I think I'll be able to get far enough that I can leave at a reasonable hour today.  That's my goal at any rate... I've had 10-11 hr billables the last few days, and that's pretty unusual for our office.

Saturday - Our built-ins are installed, caulked, and primed.  I just need to finish sanding them and paint them!  That's my goal for Saturday.  They need to sit a week before we put any books on them.  H is going to spend most of Saturday doing yard work while I'm painting.

Sunday - Hopefully clean the house and vacuum up some construction dust.  We are also thinking of golfing Sunday, unless more work hits between now and then...

A big chunk of my office has been out on spring break, so I'm going to spend the day getting caught up and cleaning out my inbox. Then, H and I will probably get take out and watch tv (we are so exciting!)

Saturday I have a few errands to run and then I'd like to visit the gym for a few hours.

If I don't get it done on Saturday, I'd like to lay down some weed and feed in our front yard. This is the first time we've ever invested in the grass like this... so any tips would be appreciated! We have trouble growing grass every year because of our large shady trees, but so far this year we have less bare spots than in the past. We do also have some dandelions sprouting and always have wild violets that constitute most of what is actually green. Does all of this mean I'll just be wasting my money?

  • Fri - we haven't been home much during the last week so we decided to stay in tonight.  Looking forward to getting in a workout, doing some stuff around the house and then watching basketball.

Sat- Friends are having a St. Pat's party with tons of great food.  Do some shopping and get ready for a dinner fundraiser I am in charge of on Tuesday.

Sun- More work around the house and then volunteering in the evening at a fundraiser dinner (different from the one I am running on Tuesday).  And getting my free Italian ice for the first day of spring!
  • Nothing!  Absolutely nothing!

Which means I'll fill my weekend with cleaning, meal prepping, and cooking a ton of things from scratch to freeze.  Also hoping to get some pictures put into frames and hung up in our family room since we're hosting Easter next weekend and I want it to look a bit more homely.

  • Saturday we have our good friends' son's 1st birthday party in the late afternoon. Otherwise we'll spend some time cleaning & grocery shopping as we're also hosting Easter in a week.

Sunday we have Palm Sunday mass/luncheon, then our company is hosting a family bowling day which should be a good time.
  • Friday- I have a mystery shop I'm doing right after work at a home improvement store.  I drive right past the location on my way home, so I couldn't resist snagging the assignment.  $20 for about 30 minutes of my time.

Saturday- I usually do my p/t job in the morning, but I am putting it off until Sunday.  So this will be a glorious day of nothing.

Sunday- p/t job about mid-day and then brunch at Brennans.  Been looking forward to this for over a week!  It's a famous 4-star restaurant out here where the dessert Bananas Foster originated.  They spent months renovating it and this will be my first time going since they re-opened.  After that, I'd like to go hit the Irish-Italian parade but, knowing us, we'll probably just head back home and collapse after all that rich and heavy food.

  • Friday- going to see my brother's new house and grocery shop. I can't wait.. they are moving only 15 minutes away from me and they have a pool! We live in an area where it's regularly 100-105 throughout the summer, so I'll be over there, all the time.

Saturday- yard work! Finally nice enough to get out there. And then I'm taking some food to my friend who just had a baby and meeting her son. Then a wine/paint event and dinner with 2 girl friends.

Sunday- church and cleaning and yardwork

  • Friday - we've got some friends in town, so we're all going downtown tonight to Howl at the Moon.  It's not my favorite place because it's a bit cheesy, but it'll be fun to hang out with friends... seems we're all so busy these days that we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like.

Saturday - Heading down south to our friend's house for a birthday party for their daughter, she turns 1 next month but since our other friends are in town, they're doing the party for her this weekend.

Sunday - Nothing other than usual weekend stuff... laundry, groceries, etc.
  • H and I are both working tomorrow. My parents closed I their new house yesterday, so I'm going there after work tomorrow to help my mom clean top to bottom before they start moving stuff in. We'll be doing the same on Sunday, and likely start moving some of the big stuff in, too. Nothing fun this weekend. Ha.
  • Sometime between tonight and Sunday, we need to go pick up our other nightstand that had to be ordered, and H's new shotgun.  That's a 2-hr drive there and back, but it's nice to get out of town once in awhile.

Other than that, I need to get some homework done for my college classes, and probably just work around the house and yard if its nice outside.  Hopefully it will be nice enough to take the dogs for a hike.

  • Friday - work from home, get DD#1 off the school bus, homemade pizza for dinner, probably watch a movie with the girls after dinner/homework is done.
Saturday- my parents come to visit. DH and I will probably go a tile store to check out bathroom stuff. We already picked out our sink, tub, and toilet... making progress and I think we can cash flow almost all of it if we start buying pieces now (gut won't happen until July when DH is home for the summer). Grocery shop, dinner with DH's parents.
Sunday - clean, laundry, meal prep. DH and DD#1 are off this coming week for Spring break so it'll be a more relaxing weekend since DH can get some stuff done while he's home with DD#1.

  • Today - I have about one more hour of work to do today, then I need to take my car to have the tires rotated. The place I go to will do it for free as long as they don't need balancing. My car is front-wheel drive, and I rotate the tires every 3.5-4k miles, so rebalancing usually isn't necessary. After that I'll just be hanging out with the kiddos. I'm on spring break this week, so it's been weird not having any lectures or assignments.

Saturday - I have a few hours of work to do, and I'll be taking my car to the dealership for an oil change. That will also be free as part of the warranty. They said it could take up to 2 hours though, so I'll probably bring my laptop with me.

Sunday - No plans during the day. I think we're going to FI's grandma's house for dinner.
  • Friday - Pizza night at home, thank goodness. I've been sick this week but I feel a lot better now. I'm hoping to go to bed early though to help get rid of the rest of this cold.

Saturday - We have two birthday parties to attend

Sunday - Church and the church Easter egg hunt
  • Friday - possibly working late, and then just vegging out at home and researching more hotels/Airbnb rentals for the vacation we just booked!

Saturday - Bar Mitvah. Thankfully we only have one this year.

Sunday - family hike day! my husband and I bring our dog to the hiking trails by our house every Sunday to get some exercise and sunshine. It's the best part of the week.
  • @LillibetteV if this is your first time using AirBnB I recommend getting a current user to give you a referral to open a new account.  You may be able to get $20 off your stay this way.

Yea....we realized that after I joined and submitted a booking request for the first city we're going too. Womp womp. At least I was able to refer my husband so he can book the next leg of the trip!

LOL, same here.  Both my husband and I have accounts now!
  • I'm in Miami watching the baby and my dad sleep.  We came down to visit my grandmother and apparently brought the stomach bug with us (we thought we were better), so now everybody is sick or has been sick. :(
