Thank you.

Happy Friday (I guess). What are you reading? What's up for this weekend?

In a desperate attempt to jump start this board after the absurd password thing, I thought I'd post the WAYR thread and see if anyone bites.

I just finished Killing Monica, so I went back to Religion and the Decline of Magic. It's terribly dry, though, so it is taking me forever to read and I keep putting it down. I'm planning on hitting the library tomorrow and hoping to score the Gloria Steinem bio. I'm also listening to The Dream Thieves in my car and enjoying it. I hate that our library doesn't have the audio for Blue Lily, Lily Blue, because the narrator for these books is fun.

Tomorrow I have my first production meeting for an educational film I'm going to be working on, and DH and I are going to run errands. Providing my medications start working, that is. I'm having a great deal of nerve pain and I haven't slept much this past week. I barely slept at all last night so I'm home today, being a lump on the couch and trying to get comfortable. DH went to fetch a stronger pain med prescription for me, so I hope that will help me get some rest. I hate my body some days, I really do.

  • Thank you for trying to get some life back.

I started The Martian earlier this week, it's so good! Hoping to make a dent this weekend. Meeting up with my dad tonight, going to our nieces birthday party this weekend.

Sassy I hope you feel better, I can't even imagine what nerve pain feels like

I loved the Martian! I still need to see the movie.

Honestly, the pain is hell. I've got some strong pain meds to take before bed but it's hydrocodone and that usually makes me hurl so I'm nervous about taking it.

  • Way late on this, but I am reading Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr.  It is the third book in her Wicked Lovely series. I am actually enjoying this one more than the previous books.

I didn't have any big plans this past weekend. We just bought a fifth wheel camper. This is the first camper we have ever owned, so I spent some time setting it up and buying some things for it. Played some t-ball with DS, whose first practice is today. I cleaned house on Sunday and made shrimp & grits for dinner. Nothing too exciting.

  • I finished Fire Touched on Friday.  Loved it, can't wait for the next Mercy book.

Starting Everything, Everything today.  I neglected reading all weekend.

  • I actually had some time to read this weekend hooray! I made a decent dent in the Martian, it's really good, very close to the movie which was fantastic as well.

Went to dinner with my Dad Friday night and a birthday party for my niece on Saturday. Finally saw "Spotlight" it was really good. Kinda sad as I was raised Catholic and had a priest who was loosely affiliated with a scandal in Manchester NH (he didn't do anything but knew about it.) Yesterday was nice a little down time but I'll pay for it this week with laundry and grocery shopping etc.

I'm glad to hear that. I've read it and The Martian is next in our Netflix queue. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
