Re: TTC/3T Check-in

  • Where are you at in your TTC journey?
    Month 11, Round 2.0.
    Any testing coming up?
I'm 5DPO (Yaaaaay!)  So I'll probably try as hard as I can to wait another week before testing.  I'm a pee pusher, so that will be hard.
Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..)
Our timing wasn't the greatest, so I'm not very hopeful for this cycle. But I ovulated.  That's half the battle.
Still just trucking along with the PCOS diet and Metformin. This cycle I O'd on CD20.  That's pretty much unheard of. Last cycle I O'd on CD33, so they're at least getting shorter.  It's giving me hope that things are working.

We were originally planning to schedule an appointment with the RE after 3 months of the diet.  June will make 3 months of it.  So if my cycles continue to get shorter, or I ovulate at a halfway reasonable time, we'll probably hold off and continue trying this way.  Now to just get better about actually having ST more often and maybe taking some OPK's more often.  I had been taking them since CD12, but then got disappointed with all the stark white negatives and gave up.
QOTW: What do you do to help manage/cope with TTC/IF?
Run.  Usually it means a run with our dog while I cry.  It happens more often than I care to admit, but it helps.

Where are you at in your TTC journey? TTC#1, Cycle #4, CD67 (Day 9 of Provera)
Any testing coming up? If AF doesn't come within 10-12 days after I finish Provera, I will. I was able to move up my annual visit at my OB/GYN, so hopefully AF doesn't interfere with that (it's the 27th).
Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) I told my sister yesterday that we're at this point. And during the "prayer time" at my parents' church yesterday, the person reading for the prayer said something along this lines of "for all the would-be moms that have difficulty, we grieve (it wasn't grieve...it was more supportive, but the word escapes me) with you." I started crying...that was unexpected. Otherwise, DH seems ok with this. It's hard to tell. I've talked to him about it, but I don't think it's sunk in yet. And it's hard talking to him since I feel like it's my failure.
Other than this whole IF thing, life is ok. Work is getting more busy for me. I'm being transitioned to take over this one Navy facility for all environmental work. I knew it was coming, but I thought it would be longer until it started happening. It's stressful since I still have no idea what I'm doing. I have definite imposter syndrome.
QOTW: What do you do to help manage/cope with TTC/IF? I'm a horrible emotional eater. I struggle with that. I also try and hang out with IRL friends more to try and take my mind off it. I'm hoping that DH & I can get out bike riding (if the freaking weather would cooperate). I love it. There's nothing to hear but the wind. It clears my mind. I can't ride a bike at the gym...it's not the same.

  • Hey chicks - no real changes here! I've been taking Ovasitol and I'm starting to think something FINALLY might have happened based on the fact that I had some spotting and my boobs have been sore for about a week, but I don't really know. I may test in another week or so, just in case. If AF doesn't show in a couple weeks, I'm going to go get Provera. Blah.

I cope with food. It's not good, but it's what I do. *sigh*

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • "...since I feel like it's my failure." This, for me, 100%... every single day. Thankfully, my H has been super supportive and reminds me constantly that this is OUR journey, together. How easy I am on myself really depends on the day, but I struggle with the same thought, @lfk2013. You and YH seem like a great team, and I am so hopeful for you that you receive that support and love constantly. <3

Where are you at in your TTC journey? UGH... how about disgusted and so unbelievably disappointed. Everything was coming back perfect, of course, until I got my AMH back. 0.081?! Truthfully, I didn't even realized that it registered under 0.176, but lucky me, I found out it did. I cannot for the life of me understand how it's this low. At my SIS just last week, the doc told me I had 5 follicles on my left ovary. At this level, I would think that there wouldn't be any at all. On top of that, I've started my period 3 times over the past month, so maybe I really am on my way to menopause... :-O We're so confused now about the best way to move forward. I'm still waiting to hear from our RE on his thoughts on what we should do.

Any testing coming up? Who knows...

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) Besides the miserable AMH news, H had his wisdom teeth surgically removed yesterday (3 were impacted), so I've been helping take care of that poor guy. On a positive note, I was nominated for Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year at my job, and I find out tomorrow whether or not I won. It was a great honor to have been nominated by several of my peers and others on my team.

QOTW: Lots of discussions with H. I really feel so much better every time I get an opportunity to sit down and chat with him about where we're at and planning (or trying to plan, I should say) for our future. It always gives me such hope. I'm also considering starting acupuncture, especially if our plan is to move forward with IVF (my eggs or donor). I know that the research doesn't really show that it improves outcomes with regards to IVF success, but I feel like psychologically, I may really benefit.

I have a question (for those of you that use Fertility Friend): Have you ever gotten the following notice? "Note: Your chart data does not allow ovulation to be pinpointed to within a 24 hour timeframe. Your temperature suggests, however, that ovulation may have occured between CD 18 and CD 57."

I'm so confused...it doesn't make sense knowing my body.

I chart stalked you and it looks like based on the amount of temps they have throughout this cycle, the temps have increased to allow there to be a possibility of a coverline created.  Since there aren't many temps to go off of.
It's possible that either you did ovulate, or since there aren't consistent temps to pull information from, FF is confused and making a guess.

You are also taking Provera.  If your body is anything like mine, my temps would go up while taking it.  So it's possible that's why FF is thinking you may have ovulated, because those temps are throwing it off.

    Have you started AF?

@brij2006 - I've started spotting. I'm pretty sure full blown AF will be here tomorrow.

I agree with you about the Provera. It was just such a weird note, especially since I slacked with my temps in the middle.
