Weekend Plans?

What are your plans for the weekend?

TGIF!

Re: Weekend Plans?

  • I am on vacation next week so we will be getting some house projects done. But overall we are:

    Sleeping in!

    Meeting up with my friend

    Having our new sidewalk installed/Edging/Leveling out the basement door area that got flooded in the winter

    Buying new plants/flowers for front yard

    Putting down new mulch

    Going to dinner at our wedding venue to celebrate our 4 year anniversary which was yesterday

    And hopefully, we can do something FUN in between lol

    I think we will have a good week weather-wise (60-70's)

    Friday- work from home, homemade pizza for dinner, go to a wake for a co-worker's family member.
    Saturday- dentist, bank, clean bathrooms, grocery shop... probably the worst combination of things for a day off, but it's supposed to be raining all day, so it won't be too bad.
    Sunday- laundry, vacuum, meal prep for the week, get some quilt blocks finished, relax (it's supposed to rain Sunday too).

    Not very eventful, but that's ok.

    @formerlyjessica490 - enjoy your week off!  :)

  • Friday - happy hour with coworkers, and maybe dishes? Lol sounds so fun, but the kitchen is a mess and I hate going into the weekend with a messy kitchen.

    Saturday - DMV, then bike shopping. It's supposed to be rainy and cool here, too, so I figured it would be a good day to sit at the DMV since it's supposed to finally get warmer starting next week.

    Sunday - church/luncheon, then nothing planned!?!? Miracle. Maybe we'll have new bikes to break in!

    @formerlyjessica490 happy anniversary!

    My grandpa (who lives in Wisconsin) is visiting my parents in GA.  We're going to see them this weekend.

    My grandma passed away 2 years ago, and grandpa just got remarried in April to "Ms. Lois."  He is 85 and met her at garden club.  She is 83.  So H and I will be meeting Ms. Lois for the first time this weekend too.

    The best part is they were both convinced their children would try to stop the marriage (they wouldn't have, but no convincing Grandpa & Ms. Lois of that), so they refused to tell anybody when it was happening, and they eloped.  Grandpa is telling everybody he had a runaway marriage, lol.

  • @formerlyjessica490, enjoy your week off!  As much fun as it is to go somewhere on vacation, I can definitely see the attraction of just having a week to yourself at home.  Nice!

    Friday -- H and I are applying for our passports, yay!  Either today or Friday, there are a couple rental properties I've been eyeing and we are going to swing by those.

    Saturday -- p/t job in morning.  Maybe out to dinner somewhere fun.  No grocery shopping for once, yay!

    Sunday -- Blissfully nothing.

    We are having a date weekend!  Lots of together time for H and I.  Which is actually the same as most weekends but this weekend's activities just show how much we enjoy doing the same types of things together...and this weekend is going to be extra fun!

    We will watch hockey, do a mystery shop at a restaurant and their souvenir shop (it is $100 reimbursement so we will really be able to do it up!), do a movie mystery shop to see Captain America, spend time working on the garden, and have a nice dinner at our neighbor's house.

    We also have 2 different BnB reservations so we have some nice extra income coming in.
  • H is playing in a hockey tournament this weekend (thankfully it's still in the Denver metro, so no travelling for once), so that's about it.  2 games today, 1 tomorrow afternoon, 2-3 on Sunday (depends if they get into the championship game).  After the one game tomorrow, we are going over to one of the guys' house for a BBQ.  Should be an interesting tournament, it sounds like it won't be super competitive as it's a charity one and a lot of the guys he's playing with are older and haven't played in awhile.  Usually H is one of the older guys, so he'll probably skate circles around some of them.

    Otherwise I need to fit in the usual weekend stuff... cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping.
  • Tonight is going to be a long night. H is in his first supervisory position and a hard decision just came down from HQ for two of his employees. He's having a really hard time. So tonight we might have a fire in the backyard and just hang out. Tomorrow I'm working and H is packing for his trip to CA. Sunday H is leaving for CA for a week and I will be going out to my parents' new house. They're having a party to thank everyone who has been helping them move over the last few months.
  • This is going to be a busy, expensive weekend.  I hope I've budged enough!

    Tonight: Birthday party in Boston for two good friends.  This part won't be too expensive, just bringing some beer.

    Tomorrow: Celebrating H's birthday by going to one of our favorite restaurants with H's best friend and his GF.  This will be a good time, but H's BF is one of those people who always seems to turn a night out into a crazy, expensive night out.  Normally I fight it, but with H's birthday I feel bad.  I've budgeted $120 for the evening and just hope that covers it.  Luckily the restaurant is pretty reasonable, but we'll probably Uber there and back, get a round while we wait for a table, etc.

    Sunday: Yoga, run, maybe some garden projects, then teaching a dive class in the evening.  Two of my students from last week weren't able to keep up with the group class pace so I'm doing an extra session to try to get them finished up so they can do their ocean dives on vacation.  Gah.

    Not bad considering last weekend was non stop.  Tonight we stayed in and I cooked a new receipe for beef stroganoff.  When I told DH I was making that he made a very not so appealing sound like ick!  - well he ended up liking it and said I could make it again. Saturday I have to play a wedding in the early afternoon and probably come home and catch up on this messy house.  Sunday will be yoga in the morning and hoping to get DH to get the rest of our patio furniture outside now that its mid may lol.
