So I'm super excited about this.

Last fall we found a patio set on sale at Home Depot that we really liked. It was a 7 piece set on clearance for $430. We held off because 1) we had just finished remodeling our kitchen and needed a break from spending and 2) we saw the set in the store, and we would have had to rent a truck to haul it home. We came extremely close to buying it though, and we have both sort of regretted not buying it ever since. It's normally $700 or something crazy.

This morning H sent me a link to the exact same patio set, which happened to be HD's deal of the day today. With tax, it came to $279 delivered! He managed to snag one before they sold out. It gets awesome reviews too.

We are super pleased about this. We were going to shop seriously for patio furniture this fall, but we are hosting a couple parties in July so we have been keeping our eyes open for a deal. This is SO much less than what we had mentally budgeted for this fall, and we've actually seen it in person!

We are taking a little bit of our tax refund and ripping out our front stoop (concrete is flaking up and is a little narrower than is comfortable) and taking out our brick paver sidewalk (too narrow, too close to the house and just plain ugly) and replacing it with a 4 foot wide curved sidewalk from the stoop to the driveway.

The first quote we got was for $3,000 for both and I about had a heart attack. Our second quote was for $1,750 and the guys references were impeccable. I'm glad I didn't give up after the first quote because this will greatly increase curb appeal (which will increase value) and it will make me a lot happier when I pull into our driveway.

If the weather cooperates they will start work Wednesday or Thursday next week and it will take them 3 days. I'm so excited about this project!

Thanks! Still really early, but I'm trying to be optimistic. I have another appointment next week for a second ultrasound and we should be able to see a heartbeat. We're lucky that we didn't need the IUI like we thought we would. I over responded to the medicine this time and if we had done an IUI the risk of multiples would have been too high. We got lucky anyway and it looks like there is only one baby in there.

Congratulations @AprilZ81! Happy and healthy 9 to you! @hoffse - we have scored some great deals from Home Depot! They frequently run random in store specials too. We snagged a gorgeous new front door that was originally $700 for $250. We also decided a little while back, to remove all the carpet in our home and the current laminate and replace with a new laminate. We had our measurements and kept an eye out. We found one laminate that had a great medium wood color and perfect grain. Suddenly the price went from $2.99 Sq ft to 89 cents a Sq ft because their in store inventory dropped low enough and is was switching to online only. Saved us a good chunk of change! Always look at end caps! H worked at HD during college and learned quite a few of their quirks.

@hoffse, nice score! we've also been in the market for patio furniture, I'd love to be able to enjoy meals on our patio, we've looked at sets for a few years and come close to buying, but haven't found the right deal to pull the plug on it yet.

also @aprilZ81 you're welcome to hit me up for any gear/MM/registry etc suggestions. speaking for myself, but other recent new moms might agree, I feel like my brain is full of tips, tricks, etc of things I wish i did/didn't spend money on, what worked and what didn't. use the knowledge that is otherwise uselessly occupying my brain.

@hoffse, that's an amazing deal! Outdoor furniture is sooo expensive. We have a large front porch that needed something bigger and nicer than the little wrought iron bench we had there. So, we just purchased an outdoor sofa from Ikea off of our area's Nextdoor site. It was brand new, she just didn't want to have to return it once she decided it wouldn't work for her since Ikea is an hour away. So for that, we got it for $65 off and didn't have to pay sales tax. But it was still $400

I'm dreading when we get our back patio/yard done later this summer since we will need to buy some stuff to go back there. We might just have to use camping chairs til next year LOL!
