  • Where are you at in your TTC journey?
    Month 11, CD4
    Any testing coming up?
    I'll start OPK's around CD13 or so.
Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..)
Had my annual appointment with my OB yesterday.  It's the one that specializes in IF and we did a round of Clomid with a few years ago.  He offered to prescribe me clomid again, but told me I could continue with the Metformin and the PCOS diet since it seems to be bringing my cycles from 70+ days down to 37 days this cycle.  So we're making progress.
He wrote the script for it, but I won't fill it.  He only does a pelvic exam on CD21, then a progesterone draw on CD27, for monitoring.  Nowhere near enough for us to feel comfortable.
Although it was nice that he said he didn't feel the need to re-test to confirm I still have PCOS, and he felt it has been sufficient time since I last nursed DD, to have my cycles get straightened out (if they were going to).
Our next step will be getting a referral to the RE, but since I had a semi-normalish cycle, we're holding off to see if it continues.

I'm an insurance agent and have a bachelors in business management, but my associates is actually in culinary arts.

  • Where are you at in your TTC journey? H and I are scheduled next week with March RE #2 for a follow-up consultation to discuss my AMH and the best plan moving forward. Interestingly, March RE #3 has never returned my calls since my AMH came back so low. I'm guessing I no longer qualify for his bargain basement pricing, lol.

P.S. We're also a little freaked out at the potential for Zika to creep its way north around the time that we are planning to start treatments. :-S

Any testing coming up? We'll see next week. I am planning to get my AMH redrawn on Monday (here in AZ, we can just walk into a lab now and request it without an order). I think I'm having more of my typical cycles now, and I'm hoping the super low number was a fluke with those wonky cycles I had been having. FX!

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) Found out today that I might be receiving a nice bonus at work that I wasn't expecting. Also, H is thinking about enrolling in a non-thesis 1-year Master's program, which would keep us from moving to Oregon until 2018. That would make me sad, but I also want him to have the best career opportunities once we finally head up there.

QOTW: I was a Navy brat growing up (and my parents just seemed to move a lot), so from K-6th grade I attended a new school nearly every year. Now, I'm actually FB friends with my favorite grade school teacher from 5th grade!

  • I don't have anything new.  Though, I've had some rockstar migraines over the last few days and I wonder if they're hormonal.  Not that it would mean anything, though.  I'd just love to ovulate on my own, but the dr is pretty confident that I won't.  I need to schedule a pap and breast exam for sometime soon as well... it's required for FET.

Nothing super interesting about me that you guys don't already know.  :)

Where are you at in your TTC journey? Cycle #5, CD11
Any testing coming up? I'll start OPKs next week...as if they'll show something.
I had my annual appointment today and got a referral to a fertility specialist. My appointment is June 8th. I'm just glad I got in so quickly at the office I wanted. I guess I'm now officially 3T. :(
Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) My OB/GYN said that it is possible that things have changed with my hormones over the past year, but that everything still looks good. It was hard having to make the phone call for my appointment. And I fully expected to go alone...but DH wants to go with me.
QOTW: Tell us something interesting about you! Hmmm...my degree is in ocean engineering and the Navy tried HARD to get me after high school and all throughout college. Well, they have me now! LOL

  • Hi everyone!

@brij2006 I'm so glad the PCOS diet is working for you to shorten your cycles. Would you mind sharing what you're doing?

@FutureMrsWright2012 I hope your low AMH number was just a fluke! Good luck with your upcoming RE appt.

@ilovewhitevinotoo Why the name change? I must have missed something. Sorry about your migraines. I hope they go away soon.

@lfk2013 So many hugs on 3T. I hope that your RE appt goes well! I'm glad your H wants to go with you to the appt.

Where are you at in your TTC journey? I'm Cycle 3, Month 5, CD 73. TTC #1 with PCOS.

Any testing coming up? Nope. I have my annual GYN appt coming up at the end of June. I had to switch Providers because of my insurance. That isn't a bad thing though because the NP I was seeing told me she would give me Clomid, but that monitoring wasn't necessary and it wouldn't increase my chance of multiples. I wasn't concerned about it then because I wasn't TTC. I'm interested to see my new Provider's thoughts on my PCOS and cycles.

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) I finally got + OPKs Thursday and yesterday. Hopefully my temps will confirm ovulation in the next couple days.

QOTW:Tell us something interesting about you! My dream is to one day live (mostly) off-grid and to grow and preserve my own food.

Haha.. True, but IF treatments cost way more! Plus, thus far anyways, we haven't had any Zika cases outside of folks traveling out of the country and then bringing it back like the rest of the country. Let's just hope it stays that way!

The PCOS diet is no gluten, high protein, less processed foods, sugar only in its natural state (fruits and cane sugar), no alcohol, and limited caffeine.
I did it a couple of years ago and we got pregnant with DD.  So my body responded to it really well then.  This time around it has taken longer for my body to respond, and I've had to mix in Metformin in order to help balance things out a bit more.  It's still no normal cycle, but it's better than 70+ days.
