Re: TTC/3T Check-in

  • Where are you at in your TTC journey? TTC Cycle #5, CD23
Any testing coming up? Hmmmm...not sure. I have my first RE appointment this afternoon. Otherwise, just temps at this point unless the RE tells me otherwise.
Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) Work has been a little crazy. I'm being transitioned onto a larger, more high-profile project, so I'm stressed about that...but I let something fall through the cracks on a project I'm transitioning off of. Whoops. I feel a little bad about that...but kinda not. I wasn't really transitioned onto the project to begin with.
QOTW: Any good books, movies, or other entertainment you're into this summer? I'm trying to "catch up" on all the books I've got before adding more. I just finished What She Left Behind...I was kind of disappointed in it, for as well reviewed as it was. I'm currently reading The Perfect Son (an Amazon Prime free-be). SO GOOD!

  • @lfk2013 I am so happy you're seeing the RE today.  I know it's bittersweet, but I'm glad to see that the ball is rolling.  :)

Started TTC in 2010, dx PCOS
August 2012 - baby boy born still
IUIs and IVF blah blah blah
    IVF #1 - miscarriage
    FET#1 - BFN
    FET#2 - BFN
IVF#2 - froze all embryos for genetic testing
    FET#1 Round 2 - Baby Boy born in 2015
    FET#2 Round 2 - CP/BFN
Started the domestic infant adoption process - Oct 2016

  • No news here.  I am going to the OB on Friday for a pap and breast exam - required to move forward with FET.  So, another step forward.  If I don't get my period by the 28th (which I won't... I haven't gotten a natural period since I was 15), then I'll start birth control to induce a bleed and begin everything again.

    PCOS sucks.

  • Update: I really like my RE. She also thinks I have PCOS, just based on all my symptoms and hearing what I've been through since I started getting my period. She also seemed a little flabberghasted that no one tried to figure out WHY it's been so difficult to get my period instead of just giving me BCP to regulate everything. If I don't get my period by the 25th (highly doubtful), they'll give me a prescription for Provera so they can get the ball rolling with CD3 bloodwork.

  • lfk2013 - I'm so glad that you like your RE, and you have a plan to move forward! I hope she is able to develop a treatment plan soon to get you your take home baby(ies)! :)

Where are you at in your TTC journey?
It has been a long couple of weeks. My apologies for not getting the check-in posted last week. We met with March RE #2, who I trusted the most, and using my eggs is officially off the table based on my AMH. :( I knew it was coming, but it still hurt. We discussed donor egg at his office, but when we found out it would be $30,000+, we have started researching other options (including out-of-state). There are several clinics who offer "shared" donor egg cycles at half the price, but you are limited to the number of eggs you get (max is usually 6). Frozen is also cheaper, but the success rates drop significantly. I have some requests for more information out to a couple different clinics, so hopefully, next week, we'll have a better idea on what is going to work for us.

Any testing coming up? Nope, just due for my annual that I also need to get scheduled.

Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) H is 1/3 of the way done with his summer internship, and then he graduates. Hooray! Last week, he was offered a full ride scholarship to complete a Master's in the field his Bachelor's is in (a program that he has hated nearly every minute of), but it would mean 2 more years of him not working and no stipend and 2 years longer in this dusty oven, so he turned it down.

QOTW: I just started reading a book called My Heart Can't Even Believe It by Amy Silverman about her daughter with Down syndrome, and I think I might read "Presence" next. I'm a weirdo and love non-fiction books over fiction any day! Tonight, H and I are going to see the World of Warcraft movie... NERDS! :)

  • @FutureMrsWright2012 I'm sorry about the news. I think a shared cycle is a good option though. You know you can carry a baby. You've done it. Six embryos may be plenty. I don't know if Reba ever checks in here anymore, but I think she did that. I could be misremembering though. She now has a beautiful baby (well, toddler) girl. :)
