Re: TTC/3T Check-in

  • I had my appointment on Friday-- my RE wanted a pap and breast exam before we get started. So check, that's done. Now I wait until the 28th and call if I haven't gotten my period (which I won't). Then, I start stupid testing again. I don't have to do another mock transfer, but do have to do several blood tests and an HSG again. Boo. No questions that I can think of, but I love GTKY pics. Favorite wedding pic? Or honeymoon? Pets? House? Phantom baby names/nurseries/etc?

  • Where are you at in your TTC journey? Cycle #5, CD29
Any testing coming up? I'll go have some baseline bloodwork Friday morning (non-CD3) so we can see what's going on.
Anything good or bad happening? (TTC wise or just in life..) I'm really emotional. My coworker let us all know in our weekly meeting yesterday that his wife is 9 weeks pg. Their first kid is not even a year. I'm happy for him, but it's still a knife to the gut right now. I have all the feels...mostly that I'm not good enough. I really hope this crying, mood swing mess that I am is just hormonal - I had my first hormonal migraine (in probably 2 years) last week which sucked so bad. Two days of feeling like my head was going to explode.

I will say that I am gung ho changing my diet. I'm cutting out dairy slowly...I'm really sad about the cheese thing, but I will do whatever it takes. I already kept maybe 75% gluten-free, just because I felt better when not eating things with gluten. So that part isn't difficult. It's the cheese.

QOTW: Not feeling super creative today.... share a question to include for future QOTW check-ins! - I can't think of anything right now...

    TTC #1: Mirena removed 5/26/2015; DH - normal SA, me - diagnosed with PCOS 8/4/2016 - on Metformin;
    BFP - 10/29/2016!!!, EDD - 7/8/2017
  • @ilovewhitevinotoo - That stinks about the repeat testing, but at least things are moving forward! Why are they making you do an HSG again though if you're just planning on an FET? Thanks for all the QOTW ideas!

@lfk2013 - Hopefully, your labs tomorrow will help give you some answers! Ditto about cheese! I love cheese. I really want to be vegan someday (vegetarian now), but I'm going to have a tough time without cheese! LOL. Hugs to you about crappy IF feelings. <3

AFM... Been "shopping around" the country looking at donor egg cycles (shared vs. non-shared) over the past couple of weeks. I've heard from a clinic in VA/DC and CA that all seemed promising (cost and success rate wise). H and I had a long discussion with all this new information, and I think we're going to end up just doing donor egg here in AZ after all. I got back in touch with one of the clinics we saw in March who has their own donor egg program, and found out that I get a 20% professional discount which is huge! I haven't been super impressed with their available donors yet, but even with the discount we're going to need more time to save anyways. In the meantime, we'll just keep watching their list and knock out the required pre-cycle testing.

Now that we've officially decided on a clinic and know what the expenses are going to be, I am feeling much more at peace. Hopefully that feeling continues when it comes time to get this party started! :)

  • @futuremrswright2012 - you can ignore this if you want, but do you know what caused your loss?

I can't remember why I have to redo some of the testing.  I don't have to do another mock transfer, but we're mirroring the last cycle since it was successful.  There are other random tests that I think are pointless too, but it's their policy, and I'm not going to push it.  I don't know.  Doesn't feel like the hill I want to die on.

  • @ilovewhitevinotoo - No... unfortunately not. All testing that was done to rule out any other possible cause has come back negative/normal. The latest that one of my REs postulated was that perhaps he had a heart defect? I don't work in cardiology, but I always thought that cardiac defects weren't problematic until after a baby was born. Whatever I guess... We'll never know.

I had never heard the phrase "doesn't feel like the hill I want to die on", and then I've heard it twice now in as many days! Both related to IF posts, go figure. GL with all the testing!

Officially at 1 year of TTC 2.0.  On CD31 and 6DPO
    Any testing coming up?
I'll probably test Saturday.  Might on Friday because I'm a pee pusher.

I am happy that a mix of the PCOS diet and Metformin seem to be helping my body have less than 70 day cycles.  So that's a big plus. Still not ovulating in the timely manner that the doctor wants to see, but progress is progress at this point.
I have also lost 16 pounds in the last 2 months, so I'm pretty pleased with that as well.
