Sorry, I was home with the kid while the wife worked.

I will say that is one of my pet peeves though.  I remember growing up that you were lucky to find a gas station open on a federal holiday, let alone anything else.  Now it is like most of them barely get recognized.  The world will survive if you close for one day.  Costco and Chic-fil-a prove it.

I actually really enjoy the freedom of not being told which days I have to take off from work. With the exception of Christmas day, I typically work them all and then save my days for fun vacations or to sell back for extra income at year end.

I get them as holiday days.  My vacation days are totally separate.  I'm not saying make people use a vacation day as holiday time.  I just think it's sad though that it's more important for some company to make yet another buck than for people to be able to spend time home with their families.

I previously had a job that was like that.  It was just one "bucket" of time off that could be used for holidays, vacation, and sick time.  With that said, there were a few holidays you couldn't come to work even if you wanted to.

I was bumming around with ya yesterday, @formerlyjessica490!
