PSA: Tomorrow is Prime Day

If you haven't heard, tomorrow Amazon is doing it's second annual Prime Day.  I read that they will have more items on sale than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined - over 100,000 items.  This year they are really pushing electronics and toys.

If you aren't a Prime member, you can sign up for the 30 day free trial to participate.

Also, completely unrelated but equally awesome - tomorrow is also Cow Appreciation Day for Chick-Fil-A!  Dress up like a cow, get a free entree :)

  • I've been hearing about that, but am not quite sure what to expect.  I'll check it out, but I buy fairly specific stuff on Amazon...mostly in the food and drink category...so I suspect it will be a "whomp whomp" for me.  That stuff never seems to go on special.  Definitely don't need any electronics or toys.  But I'm sure those are popular categories for others.

Hmmm...I do need some more skirts for work.

Ha I've learned the hard way that I just need to stick to my guns and really only look for things I know we are going to buy anyway.

Like the iPad I plan to buy this week... I have no expectations that it will be on sale tomorrow (Apple products never go on sale!), but there may be accessories on sale.   I researched keyboards and such and saved them to my wish list to make sure I'm not getting suckered into something just because it's a lightening deal.

Cow Appreciation Day is definitely happening though.

I got my wife's iPad Air 2 "on sale" last year for Christmas.  The iPad itself was full price, but there was a $100 gift card special for black friday.  That's about the best I've ever seen.  So if you can wait.....

  • All I have on my current list is some yoga tanks but I doubt that will be on sale.

Eh I wish I could, but I really can't.  I have no other laptop or computer access at home right now except for my phone.

There's an Amazon seller right now selling them for $368 with no sales tax, and I have enough points to cover most of the cost of it.

  • They have a great deal going on right now that is perfect for whatever you want to purchase.

Buy a $50 Amazon gift card and they will e-mail you a $10 gift card in two business days.  Offer is only good today, only for Prime members and only one offer per membership.  I think the code is gcprime16.  But you can also find the code on their website if I am off at all on it.

  • I've also noticed a lot of other online stores are having especially good offers today to try and grab back customers.  JC Penney online has 25% off a $100+ purchase (30% off with JCP card).

Choxi sent me a coupon code for $20 off a $49 purchase, which is the highest I have ever seen them go.  The code is MISSU20, but I'm not sure if it is good for everyone.

I just used it and it worked! thanks!
  • I saw they have some pretty good deals on a Roomba ($249.99) and on a Kitchen Aid Pro Mixer ($248.99, which is a steal).  I already own both of those items, and love them both, and am jealous they're such a good deal!

They do have a nice hammock with stand for $79.99, and we're starting our patio next week.  Seeing if H will go for getting one!
  • And, I just bought a spiralizer for $19.99.  I've been wanting one for awhile.  Zoodles, here I come!

Looks like the Roomba is sold out already :(
  • H and I got into a bit of an argument this morning because of a TV he saw and wanted. Fortunately, he decided against it, because we already have three adequate, working TVs for two people. IMO, it's not a good deal if you don't actually need it.

  • Managed to score two new pairs of running shoes for H for 50% off each. Only certain sizes were available for the Prime Day deal, which was odd, but the size he wears was included so I scooped up two pairs. He goes through shoes like crazy between training for races and running 7 different half marathons and marathons this year so anytime we can find shoes on sale for him, we pick them up.

I wanted to get the Roomba but H pointed out that our dog would probably be scared of it lol.

Our dogs hate the Roomba (our younger one finally stopped barking at it), but H either puts them outside when it's running, or they go hide in their "room" (aka the laundry room where their beds are).

I know!  Right?  Our dog is nervous around it and just avoids it, not a big deal.

But my cat is the big disappointment.  She runs away from it also.  I show her all the You Tube videos with other cats riding on it.  I'm like, "Look, Nip, that one is even wearing a shark outfit.  What is your problem?"

But to no avail.  No You Tube fame and a potential Friskies endorsement for her, lol.

Our kid is more afraid of the Roomba than the cat or the dog.  They both just ignore it.  DD on the other hand.  She goes up to it and pushes the button because she thinks it makes a fun noise when it turns on, but then comes screaming for you to pick her up and hold her while it's running.  If you want her to cuddle, turn on the Roomba.  She'll be attached to you instantly.

Yet she still thinks it's fun to turn it on.  Silly kid.
