Re: Weekend plans?

  • Tonight - My sister and niece are coming over for a few hours. My sister is dropping off her dog since we offered to dog-sit while she hosts a big party this weekend.

Tomorrow - My niece's 1st Birthday Party!!! Once all the guests leave we'll celebrate my sister's birthday as well since they are only 3 days apart.

Sunday - My mom, my youngest sister, and I are taking my middle sister out for brunch. I specifically booked our reservation for 12:30 so we could order mimosas.
  • Tonight - no real plans.  Season 5 of Person of Interest was released on Netflix yesterday, and Season 5 of Longmire was released today, so I'm guessing we'll watch either one of those.

Saturday - We're helping some friends move :-P  Disadvantage of having an enclosed utility trailer and a truck... we get requests often.  In my head I'm like "Ok, we're in our 30s, lets move past the whole "help me move and I'll buy you pizza and beer" thing and actually hire movers, but I don't say that out loud :)

Sunday - Heading down to DU to watch a hockey game, it's the Avalanche's intra-squad scrimmage.  Yes, we're total hockey nerds that go to ALL the preseason stuff we can.  Guessing we might get some lunch or something while we're down there.
  • @julieanne912 Hopefully they at least have everything packed up and ready to go! I've helped a friend move and ended up having to help her toss things in boxes. She wasn't even close to ready. It drove me nuts...I'd rather move boxes all day long than pack up someone else's stuff.

SITB!  Yeah, she's pretty organized so hopefully it'll go OK.  I actually am no going for the first part, just H is going.  We don't trust the new dog to be home alone alllll day yet so I'm going to stay home for the loading up part and then meet them at the new house to help unload.

Secretly, I'm just glad to have an excuse to sleep in a bit.  Their old house is about a 45 minute drive from us, and they're starting at 8am.  Eff that noise, on a Saturday.
  • Friday - drinking all of the wine in Massachusetts with two of my best friends. I have hit yet another TTC snag (IVF is now getting postponed...), one them just lost her job, and the other one has been swamped at work the same week she has a sick toddler. So we're going to sit around the house in our sweatpants and drink wine and have a good old fashioned bitch fest. It shall be gloriously cathartic.

Saturday/Sunday - dog sitting for a friend so there will be mayhem and an overload of huge doggies (our one, plus their two). Hopefully they will tire each other out and we can get some yardwork done.
  • Tonight  -  hanging out with the family

Saturday - we are going to buy a tree for our front yard and I have a yoga workshop for a couple hours in the afternoon to attend.  DD has cheer clinic in the morning.

Sunday - Yoga workshop again in the afternoon, other than that I'm not sure.

  • Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday- Other than two gym classes, I have to work on a project for work. I have an upcoming review of said project mid-October and the pressure is on the tighten up the paperwork. I try to work on it at the office, but I can never seem to get any of it done. H is also working all weekend, so at least I'll have some uninterrupted time to work on things.
  • @julieanne912 I would be thinking the same thing about moving and once you get to a certain age.

Fri- We got free tickets to an art/charity event.  We will have some good food, open bar and enjoyment of pretty art.  It is close to our house too so we may get home early enough for some TV time.

Sat- Volunteer work in the morning and a bonfire at a friend's house in the evening.

Sun- Free bike rentals in the city so I will try to convince H to do that with me.  And then football watching.
  • Sorry not to have been around lately-I'm away at a training program with spotty internet and constant activity. I've been here for two weeks and have one left!

Last night-I went to dinner with some friends from the program. Then we went to a bar; I joined and did my best to play pool until 10:00 and then went to the hotel and crashed.

Today-Get some work done, hit the gym or go for a nice long walk, probably dinner in the evening.

    Tomorrow-Same as today!
  • My weekend has been extra fun because I am on vacation :).  I've been toodling around on here because I am waiting for my H to wake up.

On Friday, we did a tour of 11 of the 16 sites on Boston's Freedom Trail.  Then we visited two more on our own.

I rented a car for Sat. and Sun.  We went to Salem on Sat., despite my H repeatedly saying he didn't want to go to Salem before we got here, then he changed his mind.  We went on various tours, including the House of the Seven Gables.

Sun. we went to Portsmouth and did a couple tours there.

I'll give a bit of a more blow-by-blow of the trip on my return.  We fly back tomorrow (Tuesday) :(.
