Friday - wfh, get DD#1 off the bus, pick up DD#2, homemade pizza night. I got bit in the hand by a dog on Wednesday morning at the bus stop so I'm down to typing with just my right hand. It's on my outside left hand in a spot where you would put your hand down for a dog to smell (which he did and then bit me.. we don't have a dog and I didn't slather myself in bacon fat.. I've been asked that on more than 1 occasion). It's a big puncture wound and then a surface chew mark- he got me good  :(

Saturday- I was supposed to grout with DH, but I think he is on his own. I also wanted to clean the house, so that might be with just one hand.

Sunday- catch up on everything, football, relax.

  • Tonight- Oktoberfest at my grade school. My brother's class is having their 20 year reunion there tonight and my parents are coming in to go. They'll stay at our house tonight.

Tomorrow- H and I are both working. When I get home, I'll work on my work project in preparation for review on October 12.

Sunday- Class at the gym, grocery shopping, GNC run. Monday starts a 6 week gym challenge for both H and me, so we have a lot of prep work to do on Sunday. I'll probably do some more project work in the afternoon.
  • Tonight - Working all night. It's end of year/end of quarter and it's really really really really going to suck.

Tomorrow - Fall festival with my mom and sister. That evening I think I want to defrost some brats and drink beer and have a mini-Oktoberfest in our backyard with just me and DH.

Sunday - Possibly going to another festival.
  • Tonight DD gets to cheer with the high school cheerleaders at the homecoming game tonight.  I need to find her a cheer skirt today.

Tomorrow is gladdest parade that DD will be participating in with her dance studio.  I have a wedding in the afternoon.

Sunday relax!  Possibly yoga in the morning but I may be tired from the previous days.

Monday DD has off school and its DH's and I 7th wedding anniversary so we are going to hang out together and then I teach in the evening.
  • Friday: no real plans yet. Either do some housework or just watch a movie depending on how tired I am when I get home. We had date night yesterday though so Fridays are usually boring for us.

Saturday: Hopefully yardwork if the weather cooperates. Otherwise just housework, grocery shopping, and baking an apple cake for Sunday. My husband is a "collector" (I say hoarder) and the organizing and cleaning is never done....

Sunday: brunch with friends (finally get to meet the new baby!) and then over to my in-laws for Rosh Hashana.

You know, I've never understood why year end always seems to get treated like a surprise.  Where I'm at now put a hold on any planned system maintenance.  We can't even restart servers unless they're non-functional.  If you're working around the clock at year end, something didn't get planned right or requirements are unrealistic.

I don't deal with year end, but deal with month end, every month.  There's nothing we can do about planning ahead, since we don't set the closing dates, but are expected to accommodate, no matter how busy we are.  Everyone in this industry just knows not to do anything out of the ordinary at month end, and also that days off are all but prohibited during month end.  I'd imagine that's the same for everywhere else that deals with deadlines too.

It's never a surprise. :) But there's always a massive scramble to be able to recognize as much revenue as possible. Our client likes to hold some things tiil the last minute too so it doesn't help much. I guess I can say I'm lucky in that I realistically only have to work crazy late nights around 4 times a year.
  • @cbee817 Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! About the dog bite.  Did you go to the doctor at all for it?
I was bit in the back of the leg by a dog 5 years ago while doing an insurance estimate (what are the odds).  It was exactly like you describe, big puncture wounds.  They take forever to heal.

Tonight: Going to a visitation for our friends' dad passing. :-(  He was so young.

Tomorrow: DD's 18 month pictures (even though she's almost 20 months).  Then we're hoping to put up our outdoor Halloween decorations and blow up figures if the rain holds out. I also need to defrost our deep freezer.

Sunday: Church and zero plans.  Which means we'll likely try to wash and wax my car.

  • @cbee817, ouchies!!  Sorry to hear about your dog bite.  I hope it heals quickly.

I only worked 2 1/2 days this week because of my vacation, but basically did the work of a whole week in that time.  It's been hectic and I'm exhausted from it.  Finally almost done for the day (90 minutes late).  Oh!  Except it is timesheet day.  So have to finish that before I leave.  I'm procrastinating on here.

I closed on a duplex the day before I left on vacation.  Yay!  But we haven't seen it since then.  I suspect my whole weekend is going to be revolving around this.  Some rehab work to be done, but not too bad.  I'll be carting supplies over there...in my "spacious" MINI Cooper...so that's going to take a number of trips, lol.

The big DIY project we have for it is repainting the entire interior for both sides.  Ugh.  Lots of "child art" on the walls.  We'll figure out the paint colors and start on that this weekend.

Need to fit in a major grocery shopping trip also.  We dwindled the fridge down before we left and now it needs a good restocking.

(Sigh) I'm exhausted again just thinking about my weekend, lol.

  • thanks @brij2006 and @short+sassy - I did go right to urgent care. It's about a mile from our house and it was bleeding kind of bad so I wasn't sure about stitches. I felt so bad for DD#1- she was really upset and I had to put her on the bus. I emailed her teacher once I got home to have her let DD#1 know I was ok. The other mom covered the bill ($40 copay) and I had to get antibiotics too ($10 copay). The dog was all up to date on shots and our county has him on a watch for some number of months. Just hoping everything heals ok and I can get back to normal... had to go out and buy rubber gloves so I can take a shower, do dishes.. normal every day stuff.

  • Fri - Worked late and then party at the library.  It was really fun.  They had food, beer & wine, bands, games and tours of the rare books room.

Sat - volunteer work with my friend (so basically hanging out and catching up while we do a pretty easy job of greeting people at this non-profit event).  Then going to a play in the evening.

Sun - Possibly going to church, getting some housework done and watching
    football
