    1. $23 Gas, $19 Gas, $63 Dog grooming, $13 CVS, $12 Home Depot, $10 snacks for uncles visit, $70 groceries, $100 to ROTH accounts

    2. $554 to our e-fund. We made the last monthly payment for H's car taxes (we divide them into 3 months)

    3. I am thankful it's the holiday season! I love Halloween-New Years. It makes the late fall/early winter easy to get through! I am also thankful that my dog has been doing good with his back/neck pain lately...we've been giving him pain meds more often so I think that will be the way to go.

  • 1. It was a good MM weekend.  Spent about $30 on groceries, $20 on dinner out Thurs night and $60 on gas.  We did a lot of free activities like visiting with friends, taking a couple of walks and going to a Halloween party (no spending on costumes this year--just used what we already had).  I did spend $2 more than I should have on hot dog buns because I forgot to buy them at Aldi so I walked to the convenience store to get them last minute.  But at least I was supporting the neighborhood store so that made me feel better about it.

    2. Having a low spending weekend was a good way to end the month.

    3. Good question!  I'm thankful that I can walk to work.  H's car is in the shop today so he drove mine and that isn't an issue for us since it is a nice rain free day and I enjoy the 1 mile walk.  I try to walk a few times a week and hope that lasts through November.  When it gets cold and/or snowy I chicken out and start driving.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not very but it was planned.  Spent $150 at home depot Saturday morning on a new thermostat and door knob/lockset.  Then I bought some dog toys, treats, and a new collar for $75.  Saturday night I went out for a friends birthday, $29 for dinner, $32 for parking...gotta love Boston!!  Sunday I spent $150 on groceries.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Will be doing a month end budget today to see.

    3. What are you thankful for today?

Having this week off while I am in between jobs, and that we can afford for me to do this.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not terrible, $100 on groceries on Saturday because chicken and some other things were on sale so we stocked up. $25 for lunch with my mom.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

I put $500 in savings today so I officially have enough to put in the full amount to my Roth IRA for the year.

    3. What are you thankful for today?

I'm thankful that DH and I are on the same page about money and our financial goals. I'm especially thankful that we've pulled ourselves out of student loan and car loan debt and can start to focus on more fun things/feel a little bit of financial freedom.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

It was okay.  Friday - Walmart $76 on prescriptions and $120 on stuff/groceries.  I was shocked at the register at the grocery part.  I'm not sure how I spent that much.  Not very MM.

Saturday - $85 at Home Depot.  $15 at Little Caesar's.

    Sunday - nothing

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Paid off my Firestone credit card! $200 back into the budget...soon to be used toward the $800/month I'll need to pay off my Window World credit card within 6 months (sigh).  At least its something.

    3. What are you thankful for today?

I'm always thankful for my H's love and support.  I'm also thankful for having multiple income streams set up for more financial security.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? It was not great I'll be honest. I always blow my budget on the weekends... I need to work on that.

Friday - Gas $20, Dinner $75 (crazy expensive for 2 people at a casual BBQ place!). Saturday - $38 at Kohls for shirts, $13 at the Halloween store, $20 at Target but I ended up returning the stuff Sunday. Sunday - $40 at the grocery store for a work potluck and having my family over yesterday, $3 at Dunkin Donuts

    2. Any progress towards goals? Just plugging away on the usual payments. Paid $500 towards my 0% interest card. Will be paid off soon!

    3. What are you thankful for today? I'm thankful for my family. I'm so lucky to be very close to my parents and my sister.

  • @labro are you putting a lump sum into your IRA?  If yes, are you planning out  the timing of it?
I personally think that if Trump is elected the market will fall ala Brexit.  We won't be ready to do our IRAs yet this month but if we were I would be keeping the timing of the election in mind.

You can make the contribution and hold it as cash.  We've got more than $5,000 of cash in our IRAs which we're holding until after the election.  I'm hopeful that Hillary will win and the market will hold steady, but just in case....

  • @csuave No, I hadn't really put a ton of thought into it honestly. Seems to be the market trend is it holds stable after the election more often than not but in this case...I don't know. I guess we'll see. I suppose it will be a good buying time if it does drop.
  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Pretty good .  Had to run a kiddo to urgent care (ear infection).  They will bill us and we have our HSA for that.  Antibiotic was on the free list at the pharmacy.  $25 for trunk or treat decorating supplies.  $40 in groceries.  $20 for pizza when family was visiting .

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Same.  I am starting to make a holiday list/budget.  Hopefully have it done this week.

    3. What are you thankful for today?

I'm thankful for a boss that's very helpful, supportive, and understanding!  I love my job but it's been a little stressful the past two weeks.
